No trip to Maui is complete without a visit to the Haleakala Crater, the world’s largest dormant volcano.
- See the crater known as “The House of the Sun” that measures 7½ miles long by 2½ miles wide and which last erupted in 1790.
- You'll witness the majesty of Haleakala’s 3,000 foot deep crater, home to some unique plant life including the rare silver-sword plant, and view its moonlike surface.
- You can gaze out at the beauty of the Pacific Hawaiian Islands from the 9,740 foot level observatory, with panoramic views of the Hawaiian Islands chain.
