MIAMI (May 26, 2006) – Carnival Cruise Lines’ 110,000-ton Carnival Glory
recently began a new four-port, seven-day itinerary, part of the ship’s
alternating week-long eastern and western Caribbean cruise schedule from Port
Canaveral, Fla.
Carnival Glory’s new western Caribbean cruises feature extended day-long
visits to four tropical destinations – Cozumel, Belize, Costa Maya and Nassau.
“Glory’s new seven-day Caribbean itinerary combines two of cruising’s most
popular destinations – Cozumel and Nassau – with two of the newest – Belize
and Costa Maya. Ports included on this one-of-a-kind program not only feature
excellent shopping, dining and watersports but archeological ruins and
eco-tourism opportunities, not to mention some of the world’s best beaches,”
said Bob Dickinson, Carnival president and CEO.
Ports on the Carnival Glory’s new itinerary include Nassau, which, in addition
to friendly Bahamian hospitality, offers beautiful white-sand beaches and
outstanding duty-free bargains.
An island located near Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula, Cozumel offers magnificent
beaches and crystal-clear waters popular with fishing and diving enthusiasts
the world over.
Belize is an unspoiled Central American paradise offering a diversity of
eco-tourism opportunities -- from barrier reef scuba diving and snorkeling
with sharks and stingrays to Mayan ruins excursions and an unforgettable cave
tubing expedition/rain forest tour.
The unique Mexican destination of Costa Maya was created specially for cruise
guests and is home to gorgeous beaches, myriad watersports, excellent
shopping, and a variety of exciting shore excursions.
Carnival Glory’s new four-port, seven-day western Caribbean cruises from Port
Canaveral began May 20, 2006, and alternate each week with the ship's
seven-day eastern Caribbean cruises to Nassau, St. Thomas/St. John and St.
Maarten.
Carnival Glory entered service in 2002 and features 22 lounges and bars, four
swimming pools, a 214-foot-long water slide, a 14,500-square-foot health club,
an Internet café, jogging track and an on-board duty-free shopping mall. A
comprehensive golf program offering instruction both aboard ship and during
golf excursions is also featured.
In addition to a 1,400-seat poolside eatery with a 24-hour pizzeria, the ship
includes twin two-level formal restaurants and a reservations-only supper club
offering U.S.D.A. dry-aged beef and other gourmet cuisine. All dining venues
feature “Georges Blanc Signature Selections” created by the world-renowned
French master chef who has maintained the coveted three stars from the
Michelin guide for the past 25 years.
Sixty percent of Carnival Glory’s 1,487 spacious staterooms offer either an
ocean view or private balcony. All staterooms feature the new “Carnival
Comfort Bed” sleep system with plush mattresses, luxurious duvets and high
quality pillows and linens.
Carnival Glory also offers “Camp Carnival” and “Club 02” with expansive
facilities and fun-filled activities for children and teens, respectively.
Carnival is currently accepting reservations on Carnival Glory’s week-long
cruises from Port Canaveral.
