Cozumel Shore Excursions
We are very excited to be returning to Cozumel on selected ships effective
with the November 14 call on the Carnival Triumph. Our assessment team has
done a complete local evaluation and determined that Cozumel will be ready to
receive our guests by that date. The local community has done an outstanding
job in the recovery effort and has accomplished this in a very short period of
time.
These initial calls have been limited to only a few ships in Cozumel each day.
The number of ship calls per day will then increase over time as the local
infrastructure continues to improve and shore excursion capacities increase.
From our initial visit, we will have adequate shore excursion capacities to
provide our guests with a wide variety of excursion options. Some of the
excursions that were available pre-Katrina are not operational at this time,
but we expect that most will be available in the coming weeks.
We will operate our calls to Cozumel via a tendering operation. We will be
using large shore tenders and expect that this will operate very efficiently
for our guests.
While we know that our guests will enjoy their visit to Cozumel, please
understand that it was also important for us to return to Cozumel as soon as
it was reasonably possible. The economic impact of our visits is very
important in the recovery efforts for everyone involved in Cozumel's cruise
tourism.
If you are a guest booked on a ship originally scheduled to call on Cozumel,
please refer to your ship's new itinerary for updated port of call
information. Shore
Excursion details for ports visited in place of Cozumel -- including: Progreso
, Calica / Playa del
Carmen and Costa
Maya are available online. Most of these excursions will be available for
purchase once on board the ship.
Unless you receive an email stating otherwise, any pre-purchased tickets for
Cozumel shore excursions will be refunded on board.
