Unwrapping Circle "C"

Tuesday, December 22, 2009 by Abby Kracoff

Stepping aboard the Carnival Dream back in September was just that, a dream.  Even though we were still in the shipyard, in Monfalcone, Italy, it was hard to contain the sheer excitement and surprise I felt when looking at the three areas which comprise the Carnival Youth Experience. The spaces were stunning and breathtaking even though they were still incomplete. I immediately wanted to begin unpacking all of the boxes and start setting up the space.  The idea of having all brand new games and being the first one to play them was too much.  I wanted to be “THE” guitar hero! The kid in me was bursting to come out as the potential for these spaces was astounding!  It was clear to me then that the Carnival Youth Programs, which have been constantly improved upon throughout the years, have really taken precedence on board this ship, and rightly so. More than half of the children who cruise each year sail onboard one of Carnival’s ships.

All three lounges for the respective programs (Camp Carnival for the 2- to 11-year olds, Circle “C” for the 12- to 14-year-olds, and Club O2 for the 15- to 17-year-olds) are extraordinary, for lack of a better word.  However the lounge for Circle “C,” the newest of our three programs, shines. Its design is especially conducive for children in that age group.  With the holidays around the corner, we are all excited to give and receive presents, and without a doubt this lounge, and the activities we hold there, is the ultimate gift to any young teen.

Teens love to hang out and have a good time, which was the inspiration behind the creation of Circle “C.” On board the Carnival Dream 12- to 14-year-old passengers can cruise, chill and connect with other cruisers in their age group.  Whether they want to play the latest video games, watch movies, or even have a dance party that any adult would be jealous of – the teens are able to have fun in a super cool, yet safe environment.  I know my first thought was to get the music blasting, lights blazing and pack the place with party peopleSmile.
The lounge is even equipped with a Fun Hub for the teens to socialize on, which was the first thing my snooping fingers fiddled with.

I am honored to be onboard the Carnival Dream with all of the dedicated and outstanding team members who are tireless in their efforts to insure that “fun” is the biggest part of everyone’s Carnival experience.  If you are looking for a vacation where people of all ages can have a good time, particularly children and teens, then sailing the Carnival Dream is definitely the way to go.

Remember, I’m Abby Kracoff, look for me when you cruise on the Carnival Dream.

    Hi Abby,

I recently cruised on the Carnival Dream for the Christmas sailing and I had a great time! I read your biography and like you, I have my Bachelor's degree in Education. I'm interested in a job like yours and I was wondering how I should go about applying for a position? I filled out the application online but have not heard anything yet. Do you have any advice? Thanks so much and hope you have a Happy New Year!
