Meet Amy, February's 'Didja Ever?' cruise winner

Friday, March 18, 2011 by Mayor of Funville

Our congrats go out to Amy W. of Mansfield, OH, who won last month's free cruise... and all she had to do was vote on what should be added to America's Didja Ever? list! Could this awesome first get any awesomer? It's about to — Amy will be sailing with her fiancé... and they're thinking of tying the knot to make it a first-time wedding at sea as well!

We caught up with Amy for a quick interview so you could learn more about her, in her own words.

C: Have you ever cruised before or will you be checking this off your list of firsts?
A: Yes, but it was a few years ago.

C: What new experiences do you hope to have on your Carnival cruise?
A: Maybe do some excursions this time.

C: Carnival has international chefs who create dishes from the four corners of the world. What new foods have you always wanted to try?
A: Anything. Always up for trying something new.

C: There are many different evening entertainment options aboard a Carnival cruise, like dinner shows, comedy clubs and karaoke - where you can sing with a live band. When you're not basking in the sun, what do you hope to experience?
A: All of it. :-)

C: What exotic port(s) do you plan on sailing off to and why?
A: I'm thinking maybe, Bahamas. Heard it's beautiful and haven't been there yet.

C: What kind of new experiences do you hope to have in port? Parasailing? Swimming with dolphins?
A: I would love to swim with dolphins.

C: Your cruise is for a group of four. Who are the lucky people you're taking with you?
A: My fiancé, of course, and not sure yet who else - maybe just the two of us.

C: Beyond a Carnival cruise, what other firsts do you hope to cross off your Didja Ever list this year?
A: Get married. :-) (Maybe while on the cruise.)

C: What do you think of our America's top 100 list? Anything you would add?
A: You have a great list of things to try.

C: Have you already done some of the things on America's list? Can you share some of those past experiences?
A: Seen a space shuttle lift off. Got a tattoo. Went bungee jumping. Rode a jet ski.

C: One popular item on America's list is "Pick a place and go." If you could go anywhere on a whim, where would it be?
A: Italy

C: Thanks again for your time. Would you mind a follow-up interview after your cruise? It'd be great to hear how it went and what firsts you were able to check off your list.
A: That would be great.

Did you know were giving away a cruise every month? Yeah, just for making your list or voting on what we add to America's. Okay, so who wants to be our next winner? Just "Like" Carnival on Facebook. Make your own Didja Ever list. And you could be entered for a chance to win next! It really is that easy. Just for adding a little more fun to your life.

Is there anyway to win a cruise and not be on Facebook.  I was on there and "friended" Carnival, but got a nasty virus on the computer so canceled my account with Facebook.  I'd LOVE the opportunity to try to win a free cruise!

    Thanks!
