Ship: Elation | Sail Date: 09/03/2009 | Destination: Mexico
I and another caregiver took two individuals with a disability on the ship. At the end of the trip, I was greatly disheartened and offended by the below standard customer service we received on the trip. We got more stares than smiles. Only a small handful (out of 900 or so staff) actually acknowleged us as valued customers and were courteous to us as human beings. No one greeted us when we boarded the ship and no one offered help to push a wheelchair up the ramp. "How are you?" ,chairs being pull out, and doors being held open for other guest left and right but not so much for us. Sadly, we can get better service out of teenagers at the movie theater! I hope they get some better training on how to treat people the same even if they seem to be a little different or are in a wheelchair.
In Contrast, we travelled the Celebrity Cruise line and they were super nice, helpful and seemed to be happy to have us onboard... just as much as their other guests.
