Huge Disappointment

This was my fourth cruise, first with my kids.  It rained the first two days and was very rough, cant blame carnival for this.  They canceled freeport which they said was for our safety.  After reading the last couple reviews I think carnival Lies a lot.  They provided no extra activities since our port was cancelled.  Camp Carnival advertised lots of fun stuff for the kids that never took place.  Once again lies. The food in the main dining was okay, nothing great though.  My first cruise with carnival the food was lots better.  Our waiters were very good though and the materd from the sensation dining room elvis was awesome.  The food on the buffett was tasteless and unattractive.  Even the salad dressing is cheap and tasteless.  Overall the crew acted as if we were a huge hastle and you could tell they hated their jobs.  The guys that work the deli which has pizza and sandwiches were horribly rude.    I did smell sewage all over the boat.  It got really bad the last day, it seemed as if my food started to taste like the smell of sewage too.  Plan on taking lots of bottled water, the water on the ship tastes like its straight from the toilet. On the last evening my famiy and a few other adults were enjoying the hottub and pools and a pool crew came around six oclock to close down the pool to clean it.  Carnival says their  pools are open until ten pm. When we told them we were not leaving they got security.  They proceeded to tell us that they needed to get it cleaned because of the embarcation that was taking place the next morning.  We told them we paid good money for this cruise and wanted to enjoy the hottubs until closing.   A pool manager finally came and asked his crew why he was giving us grief and they left.  Once againg lies.  Dont plan on getting treated friendly by a couple of the blackjack dealers either.  Extremely rude.   Our room stewards on the upper deck were awesome.  Absolutely no complaints there.  If you have a late flight and plan on staying on ship when you get back to JAX, think again.  I got up to shower at eight a.m. and only had cold water.  We went to the lido deck to eat breakfast at nine and the water had been turned off completely.  No coffee, juice, water nothing and when we asked workers they said the captain turned off water and wants everyone off.  What a nice goodbye. This was after the cruise director came on the speaker and told everyone that had a late flight to enjoy themselves at breakfast until ten am. I will never sail Carnival ever again.  No communitcations over the loud speaker when they canceled almost all entertainment.   Still dont have a clue why they didnt have some of the shows.  As for renovations, not sure what they did.  Since when does Serenity mean blaring rap music.  MY husband and I were looking so forward to some quiet time on the new serenity deck, yeah right.  At all times they had extremely loud rap music playing and was not serene in the least bit.  The Water slides looked very fun but seemed to never be open.  To me that looked like the only renovation on the ship.  As a said befoe im very burnt out by carnival.   They did not meet our expectations in the least.
