Sail Date: 06/21/10
This was our first cruise, we arrived 1:30 drove to the terminal and left our bags and drove across the street to park. We got in a line that was long but moved fast, at the end of this line you showed your passports and boarding pass, you then proceeded to another line which lead to the scanners, you place your carry on bags here and walk thru a body scanner. Off to another line where you will show your passports and credit card to get you sail cards and off to the ship. The lines moved fast and with the excitement time went quickly, not to mention we had three small children under the age of 7 so it wasn't that bad. We were in our cabins by around 2:30. We had a great time, the food was good and I'm a picky eater. You can have burgers, hotdogs, fries everyday or go to a line where they had different types of food daily and they had a international sections with foods from India or other cultures. In the dining room everyone loved what they ordered. Even me the picky eater loved what I tried.....must try the warming chocolate cake...ugh to die for!!! One problem was trying to locate family members!!! We took radios which is a good idea, we bought them at wal mart. Our room was great we had two twin beds, one upper and a roll away. Small for four girls fighting over the mirror but it was great none the less. I did take a power strip for using the hair dryer, curling iron, etc. We took juice and cranberry and two six packs of coke. The cokes in the room are about 1.75 each and the water 3 bucks. When we arrived back in Galveston we didn't wait for our level to be called to leave, the lines were short and the lady said we could go if we wanted.....as soon as we got to the end we went to our section where our bags were (they will give you tags with a number for your bags) got a porter to take the bags which was great because the porter go to a line of their own and it was fast!!! we probably waited about 40 min to get to the customs counter and out we were!!!!
