Great trip overall. This was my second trip on the Carnival and the only crew member I remember from before was the Cruise Director, Stu Dunn. Stu seems to have very good intentions overall, but would benefit greatly from writing down what his message is before he starts talking.
The Fun Times is a nice thing to have, but could be much more effective if some thought went into the timing of events (especially on sea days). For example, on the last sea day...three events that appealed to my age group happened all at the same time, and one of them was not even listed in the Fun Times. (Towel folding, Arts and Crafts and the Kitchen Tour were all at 2:30...followed by a super big bingo at 3:00). If you went on the kitchen tour (which was not even listed in the Fun Times) you were likely going to miss the bingo, and for sure you would miss the towel folding and arts and crafts...now this seems like no big deal except for the fact that there was nothing else that day that I wanted to attend. Please consider spreading out events that appeal to the same age group so that sea days can be enjoyed a little more.
I think the food in the Empire dining room was outstanding! The wait staff is excellent, and I gladly give my tips to them. There is one thing that I question...why is the Maitre'D tip handled separately and does it get divided some how or just go to her...she did a fine job, but I am confused by the tip...does she not get a salary...and like other salary officers, why is she singled out for a tip? (The cruise director or the captain or his crew is not singled out for tip.)
