I have tried massages on several Carnival ships to give them the benefit of the doubt.  I have to say that after trying massages on 4 or 5 different ships I'm done.  The massage therapists are poorly trained, usually very young, and are clearly pressured to make sales.  I have tried all types of massages - Deep Tissue, Swedish, Hot Stone - none of them were worth any amount of money, let alone the huge overage charged on the ships.   Elemis has a wonderful reputation for its products and services but I truly don't believe any of the massage therapists onboard the ships have been through massage school.

Another very annoying aspect of the spas onboard Carnival ships is that they are located near the sports workout areas and you hear the constant thumping of exercise equipment and fast music around you.  Actually, you don't hear any music, only the low bass thump, thump, thumping.   It really takes away from the relaxation.
