First I would like to start by saying that the staff on board is excellent with the exception of the excursion desk.
I booked this trip as a birthday gift for my 14 year old daughter. We took this trip because of the ship had to offer. BOY WAS I WRONG..
We booked an excursion in Puerto Vallarta "The pirate ship" BOY IS THIS FALSE ADVERTISEMENT- FIRST CARNEVAL DOES NOT TELL YOU THE ISLAND YOU ARE TAKE TO HAS NO REST ROOM- THE SAY ITS AN ALL YOU CAN EAT AND BEFORE YOU EVEN BOARD THIS SHIP THEY GIVE YOU 3 - 4 CHOICES OF FOOD AND YOU HAVE TO MAKE YOUR SELECTION THEN AND THERE. THEY CLAIM OPEN BAR AND THAT ALSO IS A LIE. THE BEACH TIME IS LIMITED TO ABOUT 1- 1.5 HOURS NOT INDICATED ON THE DETAIL ON BORCHURE. THE BEACH WAS INFESTED BY WASPS AND BEE'S. THEY HAD A BANNANA BOAT THAT THEY SAID WE COULD NOT USE BECAUSE CARNIVAL DID NOT ALLOW IT. THE NO RESTROOM REALLY BOTHERED ME BECAUSE OF MY DAUGHTER.. When we got back I went to guest services to complain- they said I was the only guest who had complained so I opted to just take it and leave. The next night I ran into a few other guests who had also complained, I went back down stairs to the Excursion department - and again they told me I was the only one who had complained. That upset me very much because they were lying to me with a straight face. I THEN REQUESTED TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER BECAUSE I WANTED NOTHING MORE TO DO WITH THIS LYER. THE MANAGER WAS VERY NICE AND TOOK CARE OF MY COMPLAINT.
The pools- very disappointing- they have an adult only area that my daughter was too young to attend- We had to go to the child area- and boy let me tell you that was a nightmare. The language those kids have F this and F that - so disappointing. At one point my daughter was pushed into the water by another kid, I had to contain myself and not slap this kid. The language is unbelievable and no one tells them anything... We tried to go to the pool at night to avoid the language and the kids and NO LUCK EVEN THE HOT TUB IS INFESTED WITH KIDS WITH QUITE THE LANGUAGE. In other words we had no place to go - she was too young for the adult area and too old for the regular pool. So upsetting we had no relaxation time...
TO top it all off my hand bag that had my Ipad and my daughters Ipod "MYSTERIOUSLEY GREW LEGS AND RAN AWAY" I had no money inside because of the sail and sign account.
This trip was not what either of us expected. I hate being lied to, I hate being blown off.
Upon our arrival I filed a complaint with customer service who said they can take up to 10 day's to reply depending on the circumstances. Well I finally got a reply yesterday that said they were sorry "WELL SORRY AINT GOING TO MAKE UP FOR THE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE" they said they were going to look into our personal belongings and hope someone would return them to the lost and found. YEAH LIKE SOMEONE IS REALLY GOING TO REPORT A LV BAG AND MY IPAD & IPOD STUFF. I replied to the email and I got a reply to wait another 10 days for a reply.
TO SAY THE LEAST I WOULD NOT RECOMMED THIS TRIP TO NO ONE-
THE SERVICE IS GREAT - THE STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY THE FOOD WAS SO-SO BUT THIS WAS FAR FROM WHAT CARNIVAL CLAIMS TO BE. WOULD I DO THIS AGAIN??? NOT LIKLEY I SHOULD HAVE FOLLOWED MY FIRST INSTINCT I SHOULD HAVE BOOKED THE DISNEY CRUISE AND NOT THIS HORRIBLE THING.
