Sail Date: 12/03/09
With all the Hype, I thought we would be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in style. That was not the case from day one. When boarding the computers went down and it was slow going. And we were there early enough. Once we got our sail and sign card it had the late seating. We were confirmed at the early seating. My husband went to see the maiter d and he gave hubby a hard time, but finally changed us to the early dining by shoving us into a 20 x 20 area with uncomfortable seats and slow service, which did slightly improve as the evenings went on. The slow service WAS ONLY the drink servers. Our main dinner servers were sloppy the first night, but that also improved alot the following night. Our wall creaked in our cabin every night, the super sonic toilets were soooo loud, it would wake up the dead. The power went out for 1 hour and 45 min. No elevators, no air conditioning, no casino, and no toilet flushing. A couple of the dance shows were great. But the other types of shows were not worth going to especially the laser show. Disney at Epcot is alot better. Our stateroom was a let down for a balcony. There was no sofa, which we had before in a balcony. What we did like was the supper club. It was worth every extra $$. The service was excellent, they bent over backwards with their service. The only downfall, make sure you don't get there early. Basketball court is right overtop and they don't stop playing till exactly 6:00 pm which is when the dining room (supper club) opens up for reservations. We also, missed one port of call because supposidly our ship was too big to fit in the San Juan pier. Rumor had it that the Costa ship that was already there had taken the only place we could fit. So we skipped that port of call and went right on to our next and last port of call. They only reimbursed everyone $20 for a missed port. But after this is all said, believe it or not, the special 9 day cruise was nice, but definately NOT over the top which is what I expected. A lot of the staff could NOT tell you where the nearest bathroom was. Also something else we both liked very much was the Serenity Deck. Adults only!!! Great place to relax. Need to get there early to get the seats with the tops. Anyway, I am hoping it will improve with time and might be tempted to take this ship again. Food was ok, and like other reviews there were long lines especially the last day that it rained. there were NO seats. We ate our lunch in our cabin.
