We are cruising Ecstasy in May for our honeymoon and am very excited. What all do you pay for on the cruise? There were talk of some restaurants on the ship and didn't know if that was included or not. Does anyone know if it is fruit punch or lemonade and how much a soda card is?

I went through about 30 pages and didn't see any roll call pages for the 2/19/12 cruise from New Orleans to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. Who out there is going to be making this cruise??!

Is Spendor being Repositioned?

I just received an email saying all Splendor cruses are being cancelled in Feb - May 2013 while the ship is repositioned to New York. I booked a cruise for Feb 3, 2013 a few days ago. Has anyone heard if this is true? I suspect I have have been hit with some kind of a scam. The email does not look right to me. (I am in IT professional). Does anyone know if this is true? I sure hope not. We are all excited for this cruise even though it is a year from now. I have even scheduled the time off work already.

I also see that this cruise is still listed as being available on this site. All the more reason I am suspicious.

Is anyone on here leaving on the Ecstasy on Feb 27???

Regarding the dress code!!!!!!! I actually made a big production of a family that was at our table on the formal night wearing shorts and sun dresses and explained to them and my server that and the Maitre D' that it is unfair to the people that take it seriously as a Formal night to sit with people who don't care, they actually said that we are PLATINUM cruisers and that to bad so sad we have earned our options to eat in whatever we choose to wear. Well long story short I had our family moved to another table and they were actually asked to leave that night as they were very under dressed. The next night I received an apology from the family and rejoined the table in which continued to express their apologies, I believe like any good man he was tuned in by the actual boss of the family like I was as well for being a jerk, but I got my point across as the next formal night not one person showed up that was not dressed to the nines. I feel that CARNIVAL, VA Cruiser and the other forum regulars should really start up an etiquette FORUM as it would really give people the opportunity to post and read the things and ask the questions that wouls alleviate the so called ENTITLEMENT issues that people think they deserve or earned.

Costa Maya, Mexico Excursion Help

Hello all! Me and my friend are going on the Glory on March 4th to Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands; Isla Rotan, Honduras; Cozumel, Mexico and just this morning we found out that our Belieze stop is now going to be Costa Maya, Mexico. We were really looking forward to snorkling on the barrier reef in Belieze. I was wondering if anyone has been to Costa Maya and could recommend any excersions? I would prefer to book through Carnival since this is going to be my first cruise. We are pretty adventuras and love to try new things. We also want to get a variety of different activities in our 7 day trip. We are going to the Coral Garden and Stingray City in Grand Cayman, Zipling and Gumbolimba Park in Isla Rotan, Beach Buggy tour and snorkling in Cozumel but have no idea about Costa Maya. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. IM SO EXCITED!!!!

i returned to jacksonville on fascination nov. 3 2011 after a great cruise just like all the other cruises i've been on, not one complaint ever. after traveling about 30 miles from the port i realized i had left my emergency traval money locked in the room safe where it had been the entire cruise, it was for emergencies only never meant for spending money, i stopped as soon as i realized this and called the number that was printed on my booking information, after speaking with the rep i realized i was talking to someone in miami and not to someone on the ship. they told me at that time i would not be able to return to the ship, this was really no surprise to me, they asked for my booking number and name and specifics of the items left in the safe, i was told then that it would take 2-4 weeks for the ship to send the money to the home office miami and then it could take 4-6 weeks for miami to return the money to me by mail, so it could take up to a total of 10 weeks, as bad as that was atleast i would get it. i was very nervous about losing my money ofcourse so i asked if they could confirm that the money was found, by the way the amount was 1800.00 in 100 dollar bills in a white banking envelope. i was told as soon as the ship responded to the office by email then the office would call me, was told to expect about a 20 minute wait. at that time there was nothing else i could do but start the trip home, after 2 hours of driving i stopped to eat when i returned to my car i had a voicemail stating security had gone to my room and found the safe open with no contents. i returned the call and told the rep that i hoped i had misunderstood the message but again i was told the same thing. i explained there must be some mistake i was 100% sure i had left the money there thats when i was told they were very sorry but carnival was not responsible for items left on the ship and nothing further could be done. needless to say i was sick but i had to hold it together cause i had my entire family in the vehicle with me. i explained to the rep that this was a terrible mistake and unfortunately this would certainly end our relationship with carnival, 4 hours later as i reached my home town carnival called me back and said upon further investigation they realized they had checked the wrong room and actually my money was found as i had left it and i should expect to recieve it in 10 weeks and i was giving a claim number and told to call anytime to check the status. well after a couple days i called just to make sure there was no mix up, i explained to the rep what had happened, she took my claim number and put me on hold, when she returned to the phone she said i was mistaken and that my money was not found, omg is what i was thinking here we go again. i told her the whole story and she put me on hold again, when she returned she said i was correct my money had been found. so i called about every 2 weeks to check the status. i was told on dec. 6 that the money reached miami and i should recieve it within 30 days, so i waited to call back after 30 days and was told then that it had not been 10 weeks so i should call back in a couple of weeks, during this call i was also told by the rep that it least the money wasnt gone and that i knew where it was and i should be thankful that it was returned and not stolen, well i was very thankful it was returned but should i have expected anything different? so after 11 weeks i called back, explained to another rep the situation and that it had been over the 10 weeks so after being put on hold the rep returned and told me his supervisor informed him the if you counted the time since the money reach his dept. it not not been 10 weeks. i was insulted by this excuse and told the rep that was not what was told to me from the beginning and that carnival was getting very close to losing my business because i feel powerless and wonder if my money will be returned at all. the rep at that time took my phone number and email and said his supervisor told him to make it his responsibility to get me an answer other than to sit and wait. its been 2 weeks and no response. you have a great product at a great value but customer service has been another story, i usaully have my cruise with 2 -5 cabins booked by this time of year but until we resolve this i cannot move foward. if this letter gets no response my next action is to call the trouble shooter on our abc news program, i hope that they can have some success. please resolve this before i lose my desire to continue doing business with carnival.

My wife and I just booked today. We wanted to go last year on our 5th wedding anniversary, but our son came home to visit around that time. So, we decided we'd finally go now.

Our honeymoon was on a cruise to Cozumel, so we're hoping to relive some of that fun and excitement again.

Now, just gotta lose some weight before now and then.. LOL

My first cruise in Sept I had an Ocean View room. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT!!!

My next cruise, yes I am a cruise addict now!!, we booked the same room. But tomorrow I am upgrading us to a Balcony room. From what I hear I will have to sell body parts for the rest of my life cause I WILL NOT EVER want to go back to anything less then a balcony room from now on!!!

I am so stoked about being able to order breakfast and go eat on the balcony in my robe, smoke without having to go up to the Lido deck and just be able to watch the ocean anytime I choose to. Hell, for that matter I may live off of room service and NOT LEAVE MY ROOM AT ALL for the entire trip, LOL!!!!

BUT if I am not ever able to do the balcony again and can only do Ocean view....................... as long as I am cruising................WHO CARES!!!!! RIGHT????????

Now if I can just figure out how to make the next 200 some odd days go be FASTER all will be right with the world.

I'm sure this question has been asked and I really tried to find it, but didn't see it so I apologize in advance if it's a repetitive one.

My DH and I are cruising on the Spirit Feb 12-17 and the plan is to bring two bottles of wine (one each) and 12-24 bottles of mixer (soda, juice, etc.). I've paid close attention to the rules and limitations but the only thing that isn't clear is that can we carry on one piece of luggage for the both of us with all of our beverages in it, or do we each have to carry on our own to have the beverages separate for each person?

Getting ready to book my cruise to the western Caribbean next year(April) for my birthday! I'm super excited! Now for the questions!

1) Should I purchase to vacation protection? Is it worth it?

2) I wanna get a room with a balcony. Does it really matter where or what level your on? I was looking more towards the foreword and in the vista area, is that any better then if I was to get a room in the middle of the ship somewhere lower?

3) Some of my friends are planning on going on the same cruise with us. How can we get rooms closer to each other?

4) And with that, their not married and the oldest one is turning 21 four days before the trip. Would they have to call and book the trip with someone or could they still do it online?

5) My fiance and I are planning to get married this May, If I book in my name as it is now, would I have to change it after we get married? Or could I just bring my marriage certificate with showing why my name is different from my ticket?

I know the questions are a little outta order, I'm sorry. Any answers any of you might have would be very much appreciated! THANK YOU!

Firstly, I would like to thank all of the forum users who have answered questions and given advice to not only myself but others on this forum.

Secondly, can we please all just get along? I for one am one of the people that originally came to this forum looking for information and I have learned SO much! Everyone is going to have different opinions, that's human nature. When I ask a question I expect and want to receive several answers rather than just one, especially if that one is snippy. I learned early on that the snarky answers I was recieving weren't a direct attack on me. There are handfuls of users that have been here for a very long time and they know what to expect from each other. In my opinion most of this is done all in fun. Some of the bullying is getting out of hand.

I have also gained a few friends here and come to the forums now to see if they have checked in, what they've been up to, how was their last cruise, how their children and grandchildren and even dogs are doing. You all know who you are!

I think we can all have a little fun, give and accept guidance while maintaining some semblance of decorum and while remembering basic manners.

We just booked. I know...its way way early to be roll calling, but I was just so excited. This is the first time I've seen a Hawaiian Cruise round-trip out of San Diego. There's also one in December 2011 out of Long Beach round trip, but I don't wanna pay for parking at the Long Beach terminal. Don't have to pay in San Diego!!! 15 days is a long time to have to pay to park. Aloha y'all!!!

with the 3 cruise ships with the possible norovirus outbreak this week, any suggestions to do to prevent this? we are leaving Saturday and really don't want to get sick. I have stocked up on hand sanitizer, any other suggestions? should I wipe the room down? clean utensils before eating?

I don't want to over do it, just want to be safe and have a good time.
