Beach resorts

Need some help here. What are some nice beaches/resorts that we would be able to use in Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan? Looking to just relax on the beach by the ocean for a period in these two cities. Pretty well set for Cabo. We are willing to pay a resort fee. I have read where some resorts charge you a fee for the day but then you have drinks/meals included. Do not necessarily want to book an excursion to go to the beach if we don't have to.
