Donna...Have you made further plans while in Bermuda...?  The ship will be in Kings Wharf for 3 days, are you taking the ferry to Hamilton or the other end of the island,etc...it is nice to know what someone else is thinking, either way all of us will have excellent time. The weather is fantastic in Bermuda around this time of the year. Best...SUKU

My husband and I will be on this cruise.  I had started a thread for this cruise some months ago, but it is a few pages further back.  Everyone will love Bermuda.  I have been there before and thought it was the most gorgeous place to visit.  The weather should be nice for the most part.  The temperatures should be around the mid 70's during the day and drop to the 60's at night.  I visited last during the month of May and it was perfect.  It was around 80 at that time.  We plan on going over to Hamilton sometime during our 3 days there.  I remember the movie "The Deep" was shot in Bermuda and featured Hamilton at different times during the movie.  The stars in the movie were Jacqueline Bisset and Nick Nolte.

Hope to see everyone at some time or other on the ship.  The Miracle is a beautiful ship and this will be our 3rd cruise aboard her.

Elaine and Joe...This is really fantastic, this special voyage is really special, only one port of call for 3 days. It is a discovery voyage, it gives us ample time to discover the island. I am not taking any organized tour but set out to discover the island on my own...let it be what shall be. Any specific input since you have already been there...best, SUKU

I really do like the one port of call.  You can get on and off the ship whenever you wish.  In the afternoon at the cafe's they have tea and you must try that.  Hamilton is a must visit.  It is so clean, for that matter the whole island is clean.  All the houses are painted in a pastel color that catches your eye when you arrive.  Michael Douglas's mom lives there year round and the last time I was in Bermuda, I did the island tour and they took us right past her front door.  Matter of fact, her front door was wide open.  I hear that Michael and his wife Katherine now have a home there also.  The prices are a bit steep so you may not shop as much as you would like.    You can just walk around and not have to worry about going into an area that may be bad.  I learned that it is illegal to own a snake in Bermuda, so no problem with running across one of those.  Remember one thing, do not wear a bathing suit or short shorts around the city.  That is a no no.

I can't remember if I did go to Saint George.  I did so much and was all over the place.  No, I have not stayed overnight.  I figure I paid a lot to book the cruise, why spend more money than I have to.   I did have dinner on the island and couldn't believe how much it cost.  I could have eaten on the ship and it was already paid for.  Have you checked hotel rates yet?

Elaine...Thanks. St George is at the north end of the island, a buddy of mine has invited me to play 18 rounds of golf with him at Tuckers point golf club followed by an evening party. I thought it might be too much to return to king's wharf and then rereturn to st George. The cost of hotels in Bermuda is almost the same as NYC. What are your other plans, best...SUKU
