$23 for one!!!
Actually, the 8x10s are $21.99
Is it better to sell 1 to a couple for $23 or 10 for $5?
According to which theory of economics?
As an "artist photographer" are you going to put the same care and devotion to your Ansell Adams-ing if your prints sell for $2 as you do if they sell for $50? Never mind, I already know the answer. You may start out that way, but after a while you get lazy and leave your thumb in the frame - doesn't matter, it's a $2 photo...
Then the market is glutted with "Dachasms" and you can't get people to take any even if you pay $2 each.
They're never going to sell professional photographs [on board, in Sears Portrait Studio at the mall, or the artist photographer's own studio] for anything near the few pennies it costs to produce [and mass-produce] them. They're always going to have high margins.
$5? no. $15-18? maybe.
