I got home today from my third cruise on the Carnival Spirit. The Miracle is also a Spirit-class ship, meaning it is the same layout. We had our 7A room 5236 for the second cruise in a row, and booked the same room on the Miracle for next New Year's Eve (12/28/11 sailing). Our previous cruise was in Alaska.

Are you getting the idea now that the obstructed balconies aren't all that obstructed? The only real problems would be if you have one of the lifeboat davits right in front of your face (move a little to the right or left) or if you wanted to see directly down into the water from your balcony. In some cases I actually didn't mind having the lifeboats in the foreground as they show from where the pictures were taken.
