My family will have 6 total cruising this time.  I have read about the package Hampton has with the stay, park, & cruise.  I think last time I checked it was around $180 after tax.  This was for 2 queen beds and let out sofa?  Do you think we will be okay staying in the same room?  It will end up being cheaper.  We are riding down in one vehicle so that is what they said parking was for... one vehicle.  I have also read that it is abotua 10 minute walk to the port?  Is that correct?  Thanks for any info...  Happy Cruising.....

We also have 6 in our family...and that is why we booked the Hampton.  I think it is between a 5-10 min. walk, they offer limo drop off for $5/person.  Someone suggested letting one person drive the others to the pier, drop off with luggage, then drive back to park, and only one have to walk...esp. in the rain.  I was also told that if you ask when booking, you can get a room on the side where you can see the Elation coming in, if you get up early.  But, when I booked, the lady said she didn't think that was available in the suites that sleep 6.

We have used the Hampton Inn on two cruises out of Mobile and have another planned in August this year. I highly recommend this hotel, it is a six minute walk from the hotel to the terminal (LOL I know, we actually walked it and timed it). The parking lot is secure, you will be given a ticket that you must present the attendant before you can exit the lot when you return (so be sure to keep up with it, they will not let you out of the lot without that ticket). They have a wonderful continental breakfast and the service is excellent as is the hotel itself. I don't see you having any issues with 6 people in your suite as we have done it with 4 adults and 1 child with no problems at all. One issue is there is limited restaurants in the area so you may want to eat prior to arriving. The hotel has a Quizno's in it, and there is a bar adjacent that I have been told have very good bar food at reasonable prices.

The hotel also has a taxi service that you can utilize (for a fee) if you want as well. I have driven my wife and luggage to the terminal then parked the car back at the hotel and I would walk to the terminal. Upon return you can have someone stand with your luggage in the adjacent parking lot at the terminal while you walk to the hotel to get vehicle and come back to pick them all up or everyone walk to car as well. There is two paths to/from the hotel/pier, one via the street sidewalks or one through the municipal park that is more scenic and safer especially if you have children as there is no traffic.

Have fun, I know you will!

We just got back yesterday, I am not sure if you have taken your cruise yet or not. I just wanted to inform you of something that they did not tell us when booking. They will charge you $60 to park each vehicle over 1. When we booked we asked about parking additional vehicles and was told that it was no problem. There was no extra charge, however when we arrived with two vehicles we were charged $60 for the second, only one parking pass is allowed so they said. I would not have minded that had we been told that at time of booking, however we were told the opposite and they would not even discuss it. To be honest the lady was quite rude about it. Just be aware that you will be charged for additional parking fees.
