Early Roll Call: Freedom March 10, 2012, who's going???

Only 60 more days to wait... a group of 6 from Nebraska will be with you all...  Nothing like celebrating St Patty's on the open water...

We can't wait for the cruise!!! We have six people going from 24 yrs old to 34 years old. We're ready to party!!!

First time cruisers from Ontario, looking for advice on day tours for La Romana.    I can't find a  lot of information on the web, but I did find a few resorts that offer day passes but no transportation. 

This will be my first cruise, and I have only booked excursions through Carnival. I just feel safer doing it this way. Know that they are cleared by them and that you will get back to the ship in time.!!! Have had no problems with any of the excursions that we booked. I just go to manage my cruise and click on plan activities and scroll through all the excursions available for our ports of call. It's great, gives you price, a detail description, some photos, reviews, what time it departs. I check off a few, print them out and my husband and I read and discuss and then decide which ones we want to do. Hope this helps!

Well I just booked this sailing as I was suppose to sail on the Freedom this weekend 1/28/12. I was hospitalized last week for 6 days with double pneumonia. Carnival worked with me in getting me re-booked & I'm so ever thankful. It's hard enough missing my original sail date as my family will still be going to celebrate my mom's retirement, marriage & breast cancer survival. 

I did find your thread on cruisecritic & hopefully will get an opportunity to meet some of you on board. My DH & I will be the only ones going on this cruise so it will be a bit different for us as we usually go with a group of friends & family. This will be our #15 cruise but 9 with Carnival. We already have the Carnival Breeze booked for 1/27/13. We will finally become VIP!!!

I'm not researching shore excursions for this Southern route. We have been to La Romana before & did a tour on our own & also walked all over town. It was definately interesting. We are looking at going to Dreams or taking a carnival excursion. What do you have planned? We have not been to Grand Turks or Curaco. So if you have any ideas for these islands that would be great.

I did see your post on Cruise Critic about Dreams, I'm not so good on that site.  Sometimes I can see my posts and other times they are gone. 

Do you have other people interested in sharing a taxi or van?  I'm more impressed with the Be Live just due to the fact of they way she replied to my requests.  Dreams was very cold and to the point.  I'm not sure what to do.

I have been to Grand Turks before... it is a really small island... 7 miles... there is Margaritaville and shopping as you arrive but it is about 4 miles to the inside of the island from the cruise port.  They have golf carts, and mopeds to rent... There is a light house at the other end of the island... it wasn't all that great but if you like that kinda thing great...

The beaches are WONDERFUL here... water is great... We are going to do an excursion here  Stingrays I think... or snorkeling....

Started this post on CC, and my has it grown!!! We have about 126 adults and 28 kids so far posting. They are planning a meet and greet, so far sunday the 11th seems like a popular choice. If those of you on these boards are not on CC and would like to join in, let me know and I will post what day for sure, time and place!!!  Would love to meet you all!!!
