Hello Fellow Cruisers!
I recently joined the forum and very happy to see everyone in
planning mode as am I. Only 33 more days to go!! We have several plans
in the works. For Nassau (since I have been there twice before and we
have limited port time) we were thinking of just going to Cabbage Beach
for a few hours to relax in the morning and then venture off to Senor
Frogs to enjoy some amazing conch salad and freshly made guacamole.
La Romana is really our toughest port to decide on. I have several
things written down: Altos de Chavon Village, Casa De Campo Resort or
Saona Island. I have been researching and researching this port to no
avail. =/ My biggest questions are do we dock at this port or are we
tendered? Is there a beach within walking distance and are shops withing
walking distance? I have read several not so great reviews so this port
is making me ponder if we should even stay on the ship.
As for Aruba (the port I am most excited about..especially since we
can get a taste of the nightlife) I think we will spend some time at
Palm Beach and definitely hit up Charlie's Bar and Mambo Jambo. I have
been tossing around the idea of booking the Kukoo Kunuku bus as well.
Last but not least, Curacao. The floating market and old market are
on my list as well as taking in the sights from the Queen Emma Pontoon
Bridge and do some shopping in Punda. The excursions I have been
debating about are the Hato Caves, the Sea Aquarium, and the Curacao
The excitement is brewing...just have to make it through March and I will see you all on the Freedom!
