On Sunday 6-3-12 we took our luggage to the dock where they had shuttle buses to take you back into town because the ship was coming in late. We were told First it would be in at 6 pm and everyone would be taken back to the ship, than an e-mail/text was sent out that it would not be their because of the weather. About 7pm people were getting back on the shuttle thinking that we all were going to the dock but not until after the shuttle was full did a Carnival Representative pass out a letter; which read due to the Whales the ship would be later than they were thinking so everyone was taken to a hotel lobby where everyone could get so food and something to eat which if you were not the first few hundred you didn’t get any of that because it was only chips, cookies, soda and coffee and Carnival Calls that food! Not to say that there were not even chairs for people to sit!
At 11 pm they had Great News the ship was in and shortly people will be able to start loading the shuttle; we got on one of the first 5 buses to leave which was nice only to find out that when the shuttle got to the pier we had to wait Again in another line for another hour which made it 12 am. After on the ship we learn that the people that went to the pier early did get a nice spread of food and drinks. We finally were in our room but No luggage until 1:30 am.
On Monday 6-4-12 the ship didn’t leave Boston until 12 pm which made the ship late on getting to Portland, Maine. What a way to start things off once we did get sailing. This cut all your time short in that port not to mention that this happen at Every port that the ship went too.
On Tuesday we went down to the purser office to talk about the tips for the day we didn’t sail and they said we got a 50 dollar credit per person per room and that was all they could do. We asked about filing a complaint form and was told they don’t have them to wait until we were home and work it out with Carnival; by this time there were so many people complaining that they took us into a back room behind the purser’s office where one person video taped it all and the out come was no different than at the front desk.
On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday we tried to make the best of this vacation by leaving the ship and not coming back until it was time to sail as Josh your Cruise Director did nothing to spice up things nor did we even see him on board except at the show nightly which was another thing that was Very Poor on this ship.
On Friday 6-8-12 The Caption announced that their was a medical emergency on board and that the ship was heading back to Sydney which would take a few hours.
On Saturday 6-9-12 The weather was very foggy and rain but it didn’t slow down the ship from getting to Boston early Sunday morning; so all the things we were told why the ship was not in Boston on 6-3-12 like ( weather staffing whales) were just lies on Carnival’s part.
I took this cruise because I retired on May 31st after working 31 years for the same company; when I booked it I was told that they would do something special for me while on the ship which that didn’t happen either.
As a gold member I will be looking to book my next cruise on a different line as the $50 dollars per person per room didn’t even cover the cost of the room for one night or the worst time of my life on your ships!!
