A few that I've heard of that may be a good choice are the Fuji Fine Pix and the Nikon Cool Pix. I want to keep the cost under $150 or less. Waterproof would be great but not a deal breaker.
I just came across your post today. Since it's been a few weeks since you posted, you've probably made your selection already. All of the cameras you mentioned are all good ones and you should be very pleased with any one of them.
The only difference it would seem, on the level playing field of performance, would be price.
She-who-must-be-obeyed gave me a little Kodak 12 megapixel "Easy Share" for my B-day about three years ago and I've gotten good performance and service with it. I bought her a similar one for Christmas two years ago a 14 megapixel for a little over $80.00. Not a bad price. They're billed as 'Easy Share" for their ability to help upload pictures to "facebook" ,photobucket"(my favorite storage site) and other similar types of social media.
I like them because I can load it with a 36gb chip. This gives me a massive amount of storage space for pics and the clarity is much better than cell phone pics.
It does all you say you require and more. So it seems its just what you determine is the amount of bang for your buck you're willing to pay for.
One suggestion: When I am trying to decide on similar products I usually try to find their 'user manual" online and then read up on how to operate it and what to expect it to do. It helps me a lot and maybe it will help you also.
Hope that helps a little.
Have a great cruise!
