I have to agree with djibaja on this one we were on the 27th to 31st cruise also. While my complaints are not about the weather which was a little rough but not unmanageable for me and my wife. I did find this cruise experience very disappointing. The crew on this ship were very friendly when I had to interact with them and our rooms were actually better than I was expecting. Where my disappointment came in was 1. the way they handled the boarding passengers with offloading passengers. There were upward of 1500 or more people waiting to get on this cruise that were forced to stand out side in the very hot heat in the buslanes and in between the exiting parties and valets and the continuous flow of incoming cruisers whom felt that they did not have to go to the back of the line and wait that for some reason they were supposed to be in front. Then when we got in to board (5 hrs. later). there was a real nice very large indoor waiting area out of the rain and heat that we all could have waited in but didnt get to for some reason. The ship didnt leave port until 3am, then they did cancel the Key West port call which was very dissapointing. Carnival did offer some onboard credits on the sail and sign card and "said" in text and e-mail form we would recieve 1 day refund, we will wait and see on that one. I personally feel they should refund more (50%) at leats as a number of shows were continuously cancelled, The onboard entertainment around the pool was very annoying, no let up from a very loud DJ and continuos, thumping, night club music just not for me or a number of people we met.
The most disappointing to me though was after months of being told how good cruise ship food is, was just how awful it was, The dining room food nightly was okay, luke warm very small portions of food that I swear my 9yr. old niece could do better than. Our dining companions were fun to be with as they shared th same things but we made th best of it. The Buffet food was not even edible, truthfully, I have had better food at my kids cafeteria on parents day, Breakfast food so under cooked or stale, the safest thing to eat was boxed cereal and a banana. Room service took 1-1.5 hrs. to get by then we forgot what we got. My wife became so ill from our room service wed. night we almost went to the medical center for help but they told us they were over whelmed with sick people at that time. I know we were not the only people who felt this way as everyone had the same complaints.
This ship also needs a complete makeover, the rooms were good but the theme and styling of the ship itself was very old and outdated like a bad 80s disco or such. We were told it just recieved a 10 million dollar upgrade, must have been in the rooms only.
I do not doubt that customer service was bad for some, it had to be the guest services desk had three women working at it all day and there was a line going from the desk around the corner down the hallway into the art exhibit hall to the elevators, all day, everyday. I felt my complaint wouldnt help or be heard or mattered after seeing that, it spoke volumes to us.
