Part of cruising is to try new foods. If you are feeling brave, order something new in the MDR, and its not to your liking, ask for something else. If one remains quiet, the time speak up is not here, after you are back home.
On my last cruise, the two nice older ladies in the table next to ours, ordered the "feel good" entree for the evening; mac and cheese with grilled chicken. What they got, either by accident or the waiter misunderstood, was the regular kid's menu mac & cheese. Besides not having the chicken, it was on a rather small, kid's sized plate. They were upset, and voiced their dissatisfaction to me, but not to their waiter. I am sure if they spoke up, the waiter would have easily corrected the matter, and they would have had a much more enjoyable dinner.
BTW, my kid also ordered the "feel good" mac and cheese. His came on a full sized plate, with chunks of grilled chicken on top. Also, the mac and cheese itself, look to be of much better quality ( thicker cheese sauce, etc) than what those ladies were served.
Again, if you don't like what you were served in the MDR, speak up right then! I can't think of any of the waiters we have had on our cruises, that any of them would not be eager to fix the situation.
