My math test went OK. I studied a lot for it and was well prepared but of course there were a few curve-ball questions that were hard to deal with. Hopefully I got a B+ or A-. It was a pretty tough test. Normally they will give you the values of y and dy/dt at 0 so that when you solve for the constants, you are plugging in 0 for x which cancels out a lot of terms. On this test they made you evaluate at 735 rather than zero so nothing cancelled and you had ridiculous numbers. . .very difficult to actually solve for the coefficients under these circumstances on a timed test (I was not able to). Not sure why they did that, as the test was supposed to be about diff eqs. I was expecting more theoretical questions. On the more "normal" questions I felt good though. Knock on wood.
Statics went good, I think. I don't know my score yet but I think I did good. I may have misread a question and evaluated the moments about the wrong point, which would be a stupid mistake. But I still think I did well.
I got a 93 on the ochem exam. There were a few things on the exam that I'm pretty sure the prof never even mentioned in class and those questions are what hurt my grade. Today the prof explained why certain compounds are carcinogenic. It turns out that the organic compounds in cigarette smoke are actually pretty inert. But they are in insoluble in water, so as your body is trying to get rid of them it attempts to make them more water soluble by oxidizing them. Once they are oxidized, they become very reactive and start reacting with DNA.
I got 100 on the geog exam. 16 kids out of 135 got 100. Not sure how I pulled that off. It seems to be impossible for me to get a really high grade on a paper in that class, even when I do everything the TA says. It's like he wants me to state the obvious in the paper. Also he didn't like that I used Arial font, haha. It's kind of frustrating when you get the same grade for a mediocre paper as you do for a good paper. . .it's like, what's the point in actually trying to write a good paper?
Still haven't been back on the bike because I've been so busy studying. I was planning on riding tomorrow, but I banged my knee on a desk in the library today (hard hit) and it has been hurting to walk since. I iced it, hopefully it feels better tomorrow, but I will probably take the day off the bike no matter what just to play it safe.
It sounds like the PA BAR jersey is going to be made by Vie 13, so I have to look at a sizing chart and get back to Dave Mitchell. Also I might call Dewald and ask him because I know he has experience with Vie 13.
Sorry it took me a while to post on here. I was just really busy studying for statics and math. The last week and a half has been a blur.
Not sure if you heard about this yet, But Tommy D, CVV, Levi, Hincapie, Michael Barry, and I think maybe Zabriskie got suspended. I'm not sure about the details though, it might be a really short ban during the off-season or something.
