I am asking this question for my sister (not currently a member of this forum.) My sister is trying to plan a 5 day cruise with husband and 2 children of which the ports are Cozumel and Grand Cayman (their favorite.) This may very well be the last trip her husband takes as he has ALS or ( Lou Gehrigs disease) and for those who know what this disease is...its ugly, debilitating, and terminal. She wants it to be very enjoyable for him (and the family) but obviously bittersweet. They love Grand Cayman and would love for him to be able to get off the ship, but at a tendered port such as Grand Cayman its a bit of a trick in a wheelchair, if in fact they will allow his wheelchair on the tender boat. Anyone have firsthand experience?? (and yes we will also contact special needs dept.) I am just trying to gather as much information for them as I can to help the process along. They are not first time cruisers, but ALS has changed their lives. Thank you in advance for any comments.
