Okay, I will say this. I have been on both ships twice. I was on the Liberty before and after the upgrades. Honestly, I loved the ship and the upgrades but was not impressed with the service on board. I personally have no desire to go back on the Liberty. I don't know if it was because I had sailed twice in a row on the Dream and was spoiled or what! The Carnival Dream is a bigger ship and much nicer. It has the barbeque area off the side of the ship as well as more hot tubs on the sides. I thought the service was over the top as well. Then again we had Butch as a cruise director and I think he makes a big difference in the sailing! The Dream has some of the upgrades as well. The water park is bigger and the Serenity deck is awesome! As for the ports, St. Maarten and St. Thomas have always been my two favorite ports. Nassau is nice as well. If you like a fun hang out place, Senor Frogs is the place to be. And if you want to see an amazing place, go to Atlantis. It's expensive but worth it. The Dig is worth every penny too! In St. Thomas, go to Megans Bay and be sure to go up the skylift just outside the port. The view is amazing and there's a fun hangout place at the top! As for St. Maarten, we once spent a week on the island and not once did we have a bad meal. The food and atmosphere was awesome no matter where we ate. If you like frozen drinks, you must have a Guava Berry! I love them and get them every time I go back! Front Street which is the main street near the port has shops and casinos and is right on the water! Good luck with your pick but being on both ships twice, I would sail on the Dream again if I wasn't sailing on the Breeze next year!
