You are going to have a GREAT time!!
You will see people wearing all sorts of clothing. Like many others have said...the only night you need to "semi-worry" about is the formal night. Even then you will see blue jeans to full out evening dresses. Men have tuxedos and others have slacks. Carnival is more relaxed than some of the other more...ahem..."mature" cruise lines. I have only seen people turned away on formal night if they were in shorts and/or flip flops. Yes, it does happen. I have worn slacks with a "dress shirt" without a problem. No coat, no tie but to each their own.
Sometimes we just skip that dinner all together in head to the buffet. It really depends on how you are feeling and what type of cruise experience you want to make of it.
Get back on here after your cruise and tell us how it went. I wouldn't be surprised if you were already planning your next one.
By the way, we leave out on a cruise tomorrow as well. Tampa, Florida....here we come!
