I am visiting the US from Australia and was on board the Glory (30Dec12 - 06Jan13).
On the last day (minutes before disembarking) my work laptop went missing/left behind on Lido deck by the Blue Iguana (chatting with staff & in frantic rush to get off).
I've had a hell of a time trying to solve this mystery and spent hours at Miami port awaiting news of it (but was not allowed back on ship to retrieve it)
It is a black Lenovo Thinkpad (office laptop) stored in a zip up soft pouch, contains my 2012 diary planner and work papers... also filed our room receipt from guest services with the laptop (so it is very easy to identify the owner).
I watched the Glory set sail a few hours after I got off and was so very sad and frustrated that no-one could help (the lady at port was rude).
We got Seaport security and Miami police on site and alot of time was spent trying to solve this
Can an announcement be made on ON SHIP to current passengers or posts in various blogs about this?
I PRAY that a good Samaritan has handed it in (What can one do with someone else's laptop?? Security locked login and passwords).
I TRULY APPRECIATE ANYONE'S HELP ON THIS MATTER... I leave for Australia this week and will be in hell if this item is not recovered by my company.
Note: I have already contacted Lost and Found, spoken to as many Carnival staff at Miami HQ, posted on John Heald's FB and sent him an email via website... I've even contact some staff via Facebook who are currently on board to investigate!!!
I joined the carnival site and am hoping Mary and Mischelle can reach out to their contacts and help locate/resolve this... PLEASE LADIES!!!!!!!!!
Security surveillance would be perfect... incident occurred between
10-10.10am at Blue Iguana bar (close to exit stairs) whilst chatting
with a staff member from the Philippines who took our group photo.
This incident has ruined my holiday, mood and even sleep... Its such a shame that our vacation ended so sourly and stressfully :"(
---- I'm still praying and hoping for the best!!
