Went to Key West today... if you don't already know, it's the southern most point in the United States. Took a tram tour that stopped and I got a quick picture of the southern most bouy on the southern most point of the US. Do you see a theme going here? It was pretty funny.
Saw all kinds of interesting things in Key West. So full of history and they're darn proud of it. It's the Conch (say it like KONK) capital of the world. If you were born there than you're considered a conch but if you've only lived there for 7 years or less then you're a freshwater conch. A conch is the the tough sea urchin that lives inside of that big beautiful shell that Nana has. Dad might have to google that so you can see what it looks like.
Jamie and Sarah are being adventurous. They had spicy fried alligator last night and deep fried spicy conch balls today. I tried one of those and just tasted like a spicy donut ball. Kinda good if you're into that.
Key West is also famous for Key Lime Pie, it's where it was first invented. Papa sent me 3 different texts today telling me to make sure that I had a slice and thought of him while doing it. I found a better alternative.... I had a frozen piece of Key Lime pie dipped in dark chocolate. Pretty Yummy!!!!
So part of the history is that there are roosters and 6-toed cats everywhere on the island. Never saw a cat but saw tons of roosters. Apparently they eat the scorpians and nasty snakes so they keep them here and let them roam all over the island. Pretty cool, huh?
Jillie, our tram tour lasted longer than I thought it would so I never made it to the butterfly garden. But we'll find one, ok?
Alec - I think I found the perfect shirt for you but not gonna tell you what it is until I get home. :-)
Headed to Freeport on the Grand Bahama island. Not sure what there is to do there other than shopping but it all starts to look the same after awhile, kind of like being in Leavenworth. It's not as warm as we'd hoped it would be so not even sure we'll do the beach.
Alec - sorry about your FB account. I've talked to people and heard about a lot of accounts being shut down for various reasons. They're pretty tough with their laws and the fact is... we lied and you can't prove your age. I'm sorry, but that's the risk you take when you have a gaming account. I think you should just wait a month til your birthday and open a new one then. Ok?
Tonights menu special is roasted turkey dinner or a spicy jerk pork tenderloin... I still haven't decided which sounds better but I AM getting the chocolate lava cake for sure, One of Sam's friends has gotten that every night and it looks so good!!!
Time to go wake up Sarah and Jamie from their naps so we can get ready for dinner. Love you guys and see you in a few days. I'll check this again tomorrow night, ok?
Lots of love,
