We went down early and did the Alligator tour in the everglades. If you have seen Gator Boys on tv then this is the place. So loved that airboat ride. Around 16 people were on our boat. Lasted an hour , saw them wrestle an alligator. Great to do if there.
Just to let you know that we liked the Freedom. We had an aft extended deck on the back of the ship. Love that deck area. The ports were Grand Turk, La Romana, Curacao, and Aruba. We loved Grand Turk. We did the excursion of dune buggies. Had a good time. Really never got wet or mud on us. Me and my husband drove it. Noticed the beach near the ship area and you will be well pleased if you want a beach day.
In La Romana, we went on a speed boat to Saona Island. The island is very pretty but the beach was rocky. Yet it was very pretty to look at. Thought the ride over would be - let's say - more dramatic , but it was straight over there and back. Although we did make a stop on a sandbar and although chilly, it was SO GOOD.
In Curacao we chose to do a shopping day. The scenery was so good. The floating bridge opened and closed for us due to a cruise ship passing under a hugemongus ! bridge. The tallest road over the waterway that I have seen!!!!
. In Aruba we chose the Island Jeep Safari. And THAT WAS SO WORTH THE WHOLE TRIP !!!!!!! We were put on a waiting list due to high demand and just our luck, someone cancelled and we jumped on that. It was what we had hoped the speed boat would have done !!!!!! Caravan of around 10 jeeps with 8 people. One jeep/truck had like 12 to 14 people on that one. You don't get to drive but you don't care.
Had good weather. Our last day was cloudy and windy , but that was okay. We saw the hypnotist onboard. You have to see that session.
