I was stupidly reading some of the comments on the FB page over this Triumph incident. Ugh....so sick of all the ridiculous stuff. Same old thing...."why can't they just send a ship out to pick the passengers up?" Well......because unless you have the power to completely still the water and make no movement possible....it's not SAFE to try to transfer 3,000 plus passengers and possibly crew. That's why.
Then I read "there's *** running down the hallway and the walls" Really? If they don't know how to use a toilet (even if there's a line or it happens to be a bucket or something).....they don't belong on a ship in the first place....or a plane or anywhere unless they wear a diaper.
With the previous problems that they've had mechanically on that ship, could this have been avoided? I don't know. I'm not in a place to judge that because like most of us....we don't know EXACTLY what caused the fire and such. However, I do know that Carnival is doing what it can in the aftermath to take care of the passengers the best they can while being tugged to shore so everyone can get home.
I wish people would stop all the chatter....you can't do anything about it from behind our computers, phones, tablets or whatever technology you favor.....so just be thankful that there are no deaths or injuries, no sinking ship and that they WILL get back to shore....even if it's 3 days late or so.
And the worst part is that half the people commenting or raising concerns didn't take the time to read any of the official posts to get any information....they're just feeding off the comments and there is a lot of misinformation there.
Carnival....I think you're handling this aftermath well no matter what the cause was and I'm going to be very happy to get on one of your beautiful ships next month.
Okay....done venting now. Thanks for the space for me to type this all up. Good night everyone!
