When the Triumph comes back in to service she will be one of the cleanest ships in the fleet. There are many inspections that have to be done and cleared including ones from the USGC and USDH. I believe you will find when she returns all new carpets, bedding and curtains will have been installed. She will be washed downed and disinfected many times over the coming weeks. Try to stay positive and follow the updates on what is being done. Read John Heald's blog as I think he'll be keeping everyone informed of what is happening. You can also follow along on Facebook as both Carnival and John Heal have pages. If your only going by what has been reported on tv news you may not be getting all the stories. Today alone I've read or watched 4-5 positive reports/blogs/videos from those on board last week. I think this was one of the best ones - http://www.cruisemates.com/articles/feature/Carnival-Triumph-Passenger-Interview-130216.cfm#axzz2L60R2Ukz
Girl scouts should be trained in preparedness maybe this would be a good time to work with them on this. Have honest talks, find people that have cruised in their area that would be willing to talk to them. Make little kits they can take with them with everyday needed items such as handi-wipes, hand sanitizer, tissues, sun screen, lip balm, and things like that. Make a plan that if anything should happen on the trip where you would all meet up. This is also training they can use for preparedness for storm seasons. (tornado's, hurricanes, ice & snow storms)
Have faith it will all be ok the Triumph will not be returned to service unless she is 100%+ ready to.
