I just stepped off of the Dream on Saturday. It was a wonderful cruise. Our elegant nights were Sunday (first day at sea), and Thursday (after our shorter day in Costa Maya).
We went to the Steakhouse on Friday night. I am not generally a steak person, but my husband is, so I wanted to make sure we ate there at least once. I cannot even describe how good the food was. I had the crab cake as an appetizer...it was absolutely unbelievable. Then for my main course, I had the surf and turf. It was a 4 ounce portion of filet mignon, and a 5 ounce portion of lobster. WOW. It was soooooo good. I could not stop raving about it. My husband had met the steakhouse chef by chance in the elevator during our cruise, and when he mentioned that to our waiter, the waiter told the chef...and the chef came out twice during our meal to personally check on us.
The only thing I would do differently if I sail on the Dream again is to dine at the Steakhouse more than once. Seriously. (and I haven't even mentioned the desserts, which were also excellent!)
I would love to go on the first night and take advantage of the free bottle of wine, but we were travelling with children, and unfortunately Camp Carnival is not up and running yet on the first night (they have a welcome party, but parents need to accompany the kids). Since our little ones are 9, 8 and 2...the first night wasn't an option for us.
