I just returned from the same cruise, legend returned Easter Sunday. This was my first cruise, nothing to compare it to BUT I have no complaints about the ship, staff, or food. I am a picky eater, not everything suited me but it wasn't the foods fault. The dining room staff were not overly friendly but we sat at a different table every time and had pleasant enough general conversation with eveyone we encountered. Service in the dining room was slightly slow some nights, but I'm on vacation I just spent the time talking to my gf. the lines for the food in the unicorn cafe might have been a lil long but they moved quickly and the food was pretty good. My favorite was the deli sandwiches. The staff I encountered always said hello and made small talk if we engaged them, I don't expect random strangers to be captivated by my day. I paid for a guarantee balcony but got upgraded to a grand suite as I was driving to the port (so amazing) I know the room was top of the chart, and I couldn't afford it, bit it was relly nice. I did get my room steward to show me a standard balcony and I'm sure that will do me quite nicely on my next vacation. I never noticed any slow speed for the ship, the other cruisers that were at the same ports as us didn't seem to leave us in the dust or anything.
I have put off cruising for years due to irrational drowning fears, but this was the absolute beat vacation I have ever taken and cannot wait to get back on a cruise asap. Carnival has everything I could ask for, and nice prices. I am in my mid thirties, with a 15 yr old and even on the spring break cruise I have no complaints of too many kids or drunks. Life is what you make it, mine is improved because of this vacation. I only regret having to pull out my hoodie when I came home..
