The Amalfi Coast is definitely not to be missed, it was the highlight of our entire cruise.  We took the bus excursion.  For the best view of the coastline, sit on the RIGHT side of the bus (while facing forward). Make sure your camera can snap pictures one after another quickly since there's a beautiful view at every turn that you'll want to capture while the bus is moving. If possible, sit close to the front so you can get some shots through the front window.  The views are incredible - enjoy!

Thank you for advice. Did you take Carnival bus excursion or private tour? Was it Amalfi coast only or included Sorrento or Pompeii?

      Hi Stewart,

We took the Carnival excursion which included Pompeii.  The Amalfi coast trip also included a stop at an inlaid wood manufacturing place, another small, very quaint village for shopping and then another stop for an absolutely wonderful lunch that included a glass of champaigne and a whole bottle of wine for 2.  Get in the front of the line to get the best seat on the bus -- this excursion was the most memorable of the whole cruise!

We had a Private Tour through www.DriveAmalfi.com and as has been said above, it was the best trip of our cruise

Glad you had the chance to experience this beautiful area.  How long was the private tour and, if you don't mind my asking, how much was it?  Thanks!

The tour lasted from early morning to about hour before we sailed from Naples, practically all day, cost was $600 for up to 8 people, we had 8 people signed up so it was $75 per person. Views are gorgeous. Enjoy.
