I do not see it mentioned anywhere but does the balcony rooms on Pride have refrigerators?  I had an inside cabin on Freedom and we had a frige.  I don't see it mentioned on the website for Pride.

Hi  My group sailed on the Carnival  Pride a few years ago and was very dissappointed.. No NO NO ... there are no refrigerators in the rooms. This was a shock to us since we have been cruising with carnival for about 7 years. What I found out is this a a older refurbished ship, it is nice but if you have been cruisin on the newer ships like Liberty  and Freedom like we have been it was a BIG let down. The entertainment sucked.. the food sucked ... and the activities sucked !!! I have been for the past 8 years in charge of organizing our group Diane's Family & Friends cruiises and let me tell you that was the worst one so far.  i listened to a few of my guests who wanted a cheaper rate.. and that is what we got ... CHEAP!!!!!  After being on Freedom and Liberty it was a BIG let down. Pride does offer on each floor a room where you can get ice though. The entertainment on the Lido deck was a man and a woman singing .. what i still do not know .. On the Freedom and Liberty ships the party was none stop and they also had a sauna room, a fitness room, and a whirlpool that was on a upper level that was private away from the crowd that we enjoyed. On the pride I had 2 bathing suits that i did not even get to wear .. their whirlpool was on the Lido deck that was always cramped with children. so there was no place to relax for adults. But *** it up you probaly got a good rate with going with pride so enjoy like we did and the next cruise you book you will spend a little more .. but you'll get alot in return. My group all 38 of us will be leaving out on November 26 to Miami .. we go down a day before for a meet and greet  and stay at HomeWood Suites Blue Lagoon and get our beer, water, sodas and those last minute forgot items since airfare charges if you are over weight and since you can carry those things on the ship plus our wine. We found buy buying those items in Miami is cheaper than on the ship and we relax and sit on the Lido deck and on November 27th we will head out on the Liberty for a 7 day cruise to San Juan, St. Thomas, Half Moon Bay, and the Grand Turks.  And since i see you have been on the Freedom ship you will be very dissapointed. Anyway enjoy this cruise and just MAYBE will will meet on one of our future cruises.   CRUISIN FOR LIFE ....          LADYDIAN

The pride has fridges in the rooms. The Pride is a rather new ship. 2002. And as all they get drydocked every once in a while for touch up. Every time they stop at a dock they do something to paint it or replace something.  The Pride is a wonderful ship. Food was great. Shows were great. And they had several members of the cast get sick and rewrote the show that day. You could tell it wasn't totally polished but most people didn't even notice. I even stayed awake for the shows. I sail on her again after my 2 times.

The back pool and whirlpools are adults only. There are no ice machines. Your steward will keep your ice bucket full of ice all day for you. Pride is a smaller ship than the Liberty and Freedom. So there is less ship and less people. Pride has sauna, gym and all the usual spa stuff. There are tons of places to go and be by yourself on the Pride. I have no idea what ladydian is talking about. None of what she sees is as any of us saw it. I was on the ship in school break and there was no problem finding a place to be quiet with no kids. There are some real nice spots on the ship that no one goes to. Check out the sunset garden.

Thanks!  It's such a relief to read this.  I'm very open minded so I would've enjoyed myself with or without a fridge, but it is nice to know I can keep my sodas and waters cold.  Your post just made me even more excited to sail Pride on Sunday.

I cruised with pride on 9/6/09, and it was lovely.  All of my guests rooms had refrigerators.  Check the carnivals website under staterooms.  The entertainment was non stop, the food was delicious and plentiful.  There  are   so many activities to last you all day and half of the night.  The staff was pleasurable, and always at your service.  As far as the kids camp carnival did an excellent job and the whole time we only saaw about five kids.  There were over five hundred kids abroad.  I think you'll have a wonderful time everyone has their own opinion and different experiences.  We enjoyed ourselves so much we can hardly wait until we cruise again 9/12/10.  We have a even larger crew going this time.   Enjoy

I just got off this past Sunday (my 14th cruise, 7th with Carnival).  The balcony's do have refrigerators and ours was open.  They usually are locked because of the mini-bar items.  But, our group pretty much all had balcony's and I think only one person said theirs was locked.  Just check to see if it is unlocked as soon as you get in your room and count to be sure all the bottles are in there so you are not charged. Tell you cabin steward right away if items missing.

FYI, people are correct in stating if you have been on Liberty or Freedom already the Pride will be a bit of a letdown.  So, just be prepared for things to be different.  The main thing for us was the pool area is very small compared to the newer ships. I think they are installing the Big Screen at the pool in November when the Pride goes into dry dock. So, the deck party was crammed to say the least.  Not enough room for a conga line. Not the best entertainment in the lobby (Liberty was great) but, look around there are other things to do. Lastly, the entertainment rooms are much smaller than on the bigger ships. You had to get places early to get a seat because it will fill up fast and people always had to stand to watch certain shows.

The best entertainment was Jay at Karaoke (a must see every night) and the new comedy shows they now show every night. Percy Crews was the best comedian all week. Erik wasn't bad either. Don't bother seeing Scotty K., everyone left the room he was not funny. The whole room left and went over to Jay at Karaoke.  Don't worry everyone on the ship know who Jay is!!!

Anyway, just be prepared that the ship is smaller.  The first time I went on the Pride was when it was brand new and I loved it.  Now, with the newer ships out, now I only recommend the Pride if you are a first time cruiser.

      Have fun.....................................................
