Ok, so I know we're allowed the wine, and I definitely plan to bring a bottle per the two of us on board when we embark. I'm curious as to what is the protocol on the wine key/cork screw. Tecnically the foil knife could be termed as a weapon or dangerous. I don't want to pack one so that I can open my wine, and it get confiscated. Should I put my wine key/cork screw in my carryon? Or pack it in my checked baggage so that it won't get taken away?
Kind of a Catch 22 if you wanted to drink your wine before the ships departs you can not open if it is packed in your checked bag and risk confiscation if you put in your carry on with your wine. Suggestion just buy a couple of inexpensive corkscrews one to carry on and one in your packed luggage. You never know how stringent they are going to be. But it begs the question could MacGyver even take over a cruise ship with just a cork screw.
I forgot when we took our last cruise I had my Swiss Army knife and set the metal detector off sure they were going to take the security guard handed it back and said try not to take over the ship. I got lucky
