      Hi Flamom,

We will be flying into Fort Lauderdale late on Friday March 9. I was just wondering if you might be able to recommend a good hotel, preferably one that provides shuttle service from the airport and to the port? We live north of Fort Wayne, Indiana, close to Auburn.

Hi - so far we have only stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn. I know they have shuttle service from the airport and to the cruise port. We live only 3 hrs away, so we drive.

This time we are staying at the Embassy Suites, which is practically in the cruise port's back yard. It is on 17th. If you go to the Port Everglades website, they have a link to hotels in the area. Don't know what kind of price you are looking for. Hilton was about $160 for the night, and the Embassy is much more. We are paying $249 for senior rate. I just like the fact that it is so close.

      Hope this helps.

Hi - just stayed at the Hyatt Pier 66 and had a very comfortable room - about $15 by cab to the port  (5 mins away) - you can actually see the port depedning which room you stay in at the hotel - price was very reasonable - had a very nice pool and hot tub

You will definitely not be alone--my wife and I will be enjoying our 10th Carnival Cruise--the second aboard the Freedom--It is a great ship and we have always had fantastic cruises--do not listen to the negative reviews--your cruise will be what you make of it and we have had a blast on every one of them--even though we are 62--
