I went through about 30 pages and didn't see any roll call pages for the 2/19/12 cruise from New Orleans to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel.  Who out there is going to be making this cruise??!

I totally understand your feeling!  My wife and I have found ourselves looking at excursions and making plans like the cruise is coming next week haha.  We have two kids who are 13 and 10 who will be coming with us and my mother in law and sister in law will be coming as well.  They have all been on between 3 and 6 cruises but this will be my second one.  We went on the elation last Mardi Gras week out of Mobile and I loved it.  Can't wait for this one!

Hey I am not a big city person either.  I live about an hour and a half from New Orleans.  I have never been to Mardi Gras there so I don't know exactly how things will be.  It will probably be smart to get there as early as possible.  The place where the ship is docked is kind of away from the main action I think so I dont expect it to be to bad but wouldn't hurt to be prepared ya know!

This is really the first time I have used a forum like this so I apologize if I am not replying to a message correct or something.

What is everyone planning for excursions?  At this time we are looking at doing the YS Falls tour with Uton tours in Jamaica, just doing to the free 7 mile beach and doing a picnic in Grand Cayman, and going to Chankanaab Park in Cozumel.

lol, that's okay, i never really know what i'm replying to :)

we haven't booked excursions yet, but we are thinking about a dolphin encounter, maybe parasailing and snorkeling.  we just were on the elation a couple of weeks ago and we did the pasion island twister boat, which was so much fun, but it ate up most of our cozumel time :( so this time we may just wing it.  who knows!!!  so excited..... way worse than waiting for christmas, lol!!!  hope to see you all on board :)

Hello all.  We are going and can't wait.  Just booked 4 days ago.  Bringing along my husband, our 3 daughters (21,15,8) and two of their friends (20 and 17).  We live about 35 minutes from port.  We love Mardi Gras but decided to get away from it all this year and take another cruise.  This will be our 5th cruise.  We have been on the Fantasy 4 times.  Twice out of New Orleans and twice out of Mobile.  I loved going out of Mobile, however I missed not traveling down the Mississippi.

We have not decided on any plans for excursions.  We have been to Progresso once where we just walked around and shopped and in Cozumel we have done Sunset Beach once.  My favorite thing is to catch a taxi and have him take us sightseeing.  He of course makes a few stops at local tourist stops but he is on my time and we leave when we are ready.  I love the other side of the island.  Water has waves.  Not to safe for swimming, but beautiful.  We take lots of pictures and stop at one of the restaurants for a quick bite or at least a drink.

The day we Embark will be a crazy day for Mardi Gras.  The port is located right outside of the Convention Center where some of the major Mardi Gras Krewes end their parade.  There are major parades that day that start as early as 11 am across town ending about 1 mile from port.  I suggest everyone who is concerned about arriving on time should get a lay of the land as many roads are blocked off early in the day.  If you take the suggested Tchoupitoulas exit directly off of US-90 you should not have any trouble getting to the port aside from traffic getting to the parades.  We plan to be downtown no later then 10 am.

Looking forward to talking more to everyone on here.
