We have a group of 12 going.  One couple in their 50s from Los Angeles.  One couple in their 50s from Palmdale, CA.  Family of 4 from Washington (2 in 50s, 1 is her mother [listing her age would be rude], and their 21 year old son).  And our family of 4+ also from Palmdale.  My wife Deb and I are in our 50s, our 2 daughters 12 and 11, and my wife's service dog Duncan (5).  8 of us were on the Splendor in March 2010, and loved the ship.  Can't wait to go again.  Richard

So much to do, so little time!  If you like Vegas type shows, be sure to see "Shout".  Lunch on the Lido deck has tons of choices.  The Mongolian Wok is great (do this early in the cruise, as lines get long when people find out about it), the Burrito Bar makes HUGE burritos to order, a Tandoori station if you like Indian food, Deli makes great deli sandwiches (and it's usually open until 11:00 p.m.), Pizza station (open 24-hours), the Rotisserie (one deck above the Lido deck) has great fried chicken and carved meats (and PLENTY) of seating if you can't find it on the Lido deck, and the Grill (hamburger, hot dogs), which is soon to be converted to Guy's Burger Joint (serving food created by Guy Fieri from the Food Network) where they will have huge gourmet burgers.

They show movies under the stars on the Lido deck.  If the weather is bad, the Splendor can cover the ENTIRE LIDO DECK with a retractable roof, making it the largest enclosed room on any ship.  Pool and slide are popular, as are the hot tubs.  Miniature golf on the top deck, along with a jogging track.  The Hairy Chest Contest is fun to watch, though I would never be in it!  The Game of Love is usually lots of fun.  If you enjoy trivia, they have lots of trivia contests where you can win a solid gold (plastic) ship-on-a-stick.  The pay-extra Pinnacle Steakhouse is fantastic, well worth the $30 surcharge (includes tip).

It all just depends on what you like to do.  Lots of lounges with different music and dancing, casino, free room service 24/7, free (or pay per view) movies available in your cabin, library for some quiet time, and an Adult only Serenity Deck (where the best lounge chairs are located).

If you have any other questions, just ask.

      Richard

I think Richard pretty much covered it. They usually have a comedian 1 night which I would catch also  before each show they play bingo if your into it.  Each day they activities out by the pool that are cool to watch.  They also  have a daily newsletter of sorts called the Carnival capers. It lists all the activities for the day. Each night before the room steward will put the next day's  copy in your room. If you are interested I have seen them on this site. Just look for a post that says spendor capers and you can down load them. They are very useful. Hope this helps, Mike

Michael, a few changes since your last cruise!  They now have comedy shows every night.  2 family friendly shows (by 2 different comedians) at 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., then 3 adult only shows at around 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30.  These shows are in the back showroom (the El Moracco Aft Lounge) which is also now called the Punchliner Comedy Club.  The newsletter has been changed from Carnival Capers to Fun Times.  I think I preferred the name and layout of the Carnival Capers more.  For copies of a fairly recent set of Fun Times, go to John Heald's blog at http://johnhealdsblog.com/funtimes/ and then click on July 14, 2011.  It will give you a full week of the Fun Times.  I have friends going on the Splendor in December and they promise to bring me copies of the Fun Times.  I will scan them if anyone wants them.
