I would love to see more details on your web site.

For example, the cabins.  More pictures, with bedding configurations including uppers, sofa beds, etc.  How big are they?  What are the categories?  We booked a balcony and had to call to check the category.  These days one should not have to hunt down a paper brochure for these details.  I'm sure it would save your call center time answering some of these questions.

It would also be nice to see more detailed info on some of the shore excursions.  What sort of transportation is included?  How long are you at the destination (approximately)?  I know the total excursion time is listed.

      Thanks!

No, actually they are not.  I have done numerous searches on www.carnival.com and cannot find anywhere that lists the square feet of the cabins.  Not under deck plans, staterooms or faq's.  And, I had to post a message on this forum to find out how long the excursion I was looking at is.

Most staterooms are 185 sq. ft. unless you have a suite or a special configuration. Cozy but efficient. If you are sailing as a couple beds will be set together. If they aren't to your liking just tell the steward and they'll be changed. If you have more than 2 in your cabin there will either be a sofa that converts or a pull down bunk.

Excursions show durations in the details, this includes transportation times so you can get a general idea of actual beach time, tour time, etc.

The pull down beds are twin size. My 14 year old 6 ft tall son slept on one and had no problems. He said they were very comfortable. You will find a lot of videos on excursions and rooms on youtube. I learned a lot there.

      Candie:

Above on this very page: "Ships&Staterooms" - pull down, "The Fun Ships", click.  On the next page select any ship - I chose Pride.  Select "Deck Plans".  Select a deck - I chose Upper.  Cabin categories are color coded.  This may not help if you are color blind, and if so, I sympathise.  But if not ...

Unless your eyes are better than mine you will have to use the 'zoom in' feature.  Mouse-overs will show how many each cabin sleeps at max capacity.  Click on any cabin and it will overlay with photo and specifications.

As for "how big they are" ... that's frankly a rather pedantic detail that doesn't accomplish much apart from satisfying a pointless curiosity.  Similar irrelevancies: "what is the water pressure in the bathroom sink?"  "how many total lumens are provided with in-room lighting?"  "what is the nap-density of the carpet?"

      Candie:
      No, actually they are not.

      Yes, actually, they are.

As demonstrated: you didn't look very well or very hard.

Just wondering....rwilymz.....do you EVER answer a person question without being a smart ass. I have yet to read a post from you that I don't think.....how rude and/or obnoxious.....why bother answering if you can't treat people with respect.   Just saying......

do you EVER answer a person question without being a smart ass

Smart assery, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.

For example: here is someone who makes a suggestion pertaining to information layout on the website, and when it's pointed out to her that most of the information she's trying to find is already there to be found, she flops her arms across her chest in a pout and says, "Nuh UH!!"  Well, sorry, but the answer doesn't change: most of the info being sought is already there.  The only question now is: does the one wanting the info want to acually look for it? or does she require spoon-feeding?

Who is the smart ass? the one pouting and insisting that the incorrect answer is correct? or the one reinforcing the correct answer?

Additionally, as I [seem to need to] keep reminding people: those who have been on many cruises - such as myself - are sought out for information by newbies because we are the relative experts.  One of the areas of our expertise is the filtering of information that is necessary for newbies to know versus the information that is irrelevant for newbies to know.  And frankly, cabin size is one of them.

If you stick around here long enough you're going to run across dozens to hundreds of people over time who post flustered, panicky demands for information because "there is just so much to know".  A large part of the reason they think there's too much to know is because they are trying to cram their heads full of useless crap ... like cabin size, where the "best" cabin is, what the "best" excursion is, and whether or not to take BOTH the utility closet AND the kitchen junk drawer, or just one of them, in their carry-on, etc blah-blah and yadda.  If you don't need to know it I'll tell you you don't need to know it.  If you still want to know it, there's more than enough who will tell regardless, but I'm not going to feed the monster.

As for treating people with respect before responding, I personally consider it EXTREMELY respectful to be honest and direct, regardless of how it may be viewed - especially by third parties.  I, in fact, prefer others to talk to me the way I talk to them, and particularly when we may disagree.  At least that way we would know why we disagree a helluva lot sooner than we would by beating around the bush, which is a phenomenal waste of time.

I also realize that many people would prefer the pleasantry of allowing wrong answers, such as "this information isn't avaiable on this website", to be propogated as long as it doesn't ruffle feathers, but not everything can be helped.  Besides, I don't think you were particularly concerned about whether or not I would find your presumptive assertions about me to be rude before you responded, so I'll just chalk this up as another "do as I say, not as I do" scold.

...and I should probably mention: I suddenly respect you for speaking your mind despite the flaws I found in the message.

SIG: If you're going to create the drama, at least supply the popcorn.

OP Most of your questions would get better response if you asked in the Forums for 1st time cruiser questions and General Chat areas.

That would be in the 1st and 2nd boxes on the main forum pages.

Many of the posters have outside links where we can look up specific information on staterooms and such.

You have yourself all worked up and to be honest I was there once myself.

I can guarantee that every question you are looking to have answered is either in FAQ's or within the forums.

The looking for Assistance forum is more for if you need assistance dealing with the business end.

General cruise questions can be rapidly answered in the 2 areas I listed.

I must say that your post is rather rude as it has nothing to do with helping the OP.
