We did the Radisson, which is less than 1 mi from the pier.  Right next door is Country Suites and Inns.  Both have snooze and cruise packages, (Radisson was $139 + tax = $154) and included room, full breakfast, parking for up to 7 days, and R/T shuttle to ship.  They also will take you to local restaurants (I believe it's a 5 mi radius.limit).  2 of the best are Rusty's, and FishLips, both located at the turning basin.

We are looking at staying at the Marriott.  I've seen a couple posts where people said the morning of the shuttles to the ship is crazy.  Did you feel that was the case?  I'm really leaning towards this location, but I am concerned that maybe more people choose this hotel and therefore it is crazier the morning of the cruise.  I don't want to be running late because of the crazy, unorganized crowds!! Smile

The Marriott is the closest hotel to the port that offers the stay and cruise package.  We are staying at the Hampton inn which is on the beach and a few miles away from the port.  The stay and cruise package is cheaper than the Marriott price and it includes breakfast.

I have used the stay and cruise packages in Tampa and love them

Actually Radisson and Country Suites & Inns is the closest, less than 1 mile.  As for the "Shuttle scramble" you are required to reserve your seat PRIOR to arriving at the hotel.  Space fills up quickly for the early departures.  We reserved the 10:30 shuttle, and had no problems.  Yes, there are people scrambling around, but the drivers/scheduler keep a tight reign on the exuberance.

I know it is way early, but I went ahead and booked our reservation at the Radisson for our 4/23 cruise and reserved a shuttle time as well to avoid the rush (I am a pre-planner for sure LOL)  My hubs and I are looking forward to driving down the day before and exploring Cocoa Beach!  I have read good things about the Radisson, hope it turns out okay :)

You will like it.  One thing, if you get therre early enough, and have a second swim suit, their pool is really nice.  Also, try to eat at either Rusty's or FishLips.  They are right on the turning basin, dinners run about $25 P/P and up. They are right next to each other, they both have menu's posted online.  Right next to the hotel is a restaurant, but when we got there it was a madhouse.  We went to a seafood place in Cocoa, BAD DECISION!!.... wish we'd listened to others.

That sounds great - thank you for the advice!  We live about 2.5 hours away from Port Canaveral and will probably be there fairly early so we may have to try out the pool!  Do all of the rooms at the Radisson have the Sleep Number beds?  Not that it is a big deal to us, but would be nice if it did!

Yes they do.... in fact, I believe ALL Radisson hotels have them in all properties.... at least the ones we've stayed in.
