Offered Jenkem on Bahamas excursion?

Hi,

One of my employees mentioned  that he and his wife were offered jenkem on an excursion in the Bahamas?   Said he wasn't sure if it was a drink or what.  You had to go below deck (diving excursion) to sample but a few that tried seemed to enjoy it.  One couple had an adverse reaction he thought and were insisting to be brought back to shore.   Has anyone heard of or tried jenkem before?   Wife and I will be in the Bahamas in a few weeks and always looking to try new things, but not sure whether to pass on this one or not.

I just googled it as well. My FIRST question is... WHO THE HELL WOULD EVEN THINK OF THIS??? I mean, WHO sat down one day and thought to themselves, "Hey, I think I will go scrape some crap off the inside of my sewer, then put it into a jar for a few weeks. Let it get good and rancid, THEN open it up and SNIFF IT!!!"

They must have been high as all get out to begin with!!

My SECOND question would be.....once the jar is opened WHO THE HELL would think, "Hey that stuff smells like S***, I should sniff it and see if it does anything to me!!!"

Does this mean that I should start saving my kids stinky diapers and selling them after a few weeks? You know, when they get good and RIPE. Hey, it is NOT ILLEGAL!!! So why not?????

I am kidding of course, just in case any of you think that I want those stinky things anywhere near my nose for more then the few minutes it takes to take them to the trash outside, LOL!!!!

Very disgusting, to say the least. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would try it though.

Some of the kids I went to high school with in the 70s would try anything!

Now that it's being talked about here,  the news is going to spread, and it will be the next big fad in the US.  Simple chemistry tell us that this type of waste, when fermented, will produce methane and ammonia gases, which can get you high or sick when breathed in.  But another by product is Hydrogen Sulfide, which is toxic and can even kill you.  Stick with nitrous oxide( laughing gas).
