I'm trying to decide if it will be worth it to us to buy the unlimited soda. If bought is this unlimited soda anywhere on the ship, including room service? At meals if you are paying for soda do you get free refills or pay for refills each time. Could someone also tell me what they charge for a soda.

I bought the soda sticker.  Soda's, I believe, are 1.95 a glass.  So if you drink over 3 glasses of soda, you are ahead.

Soda ordered from room service isn't included on the sticker, you have to pay for that.

You can order soda in the dining room, with your sticker, without a charge.  You will need to order from the bar waiter, not the regular waiters.

You can also get juices from the bars with your soda sticker.

A CAN of soda cost $1.95 plus 15% grats. It is served with a cup of ice on the side so there would be no refills.

The ships all use cans and not fountain or soda guns.

      “Bottomless Bubbles”

      Unlimited Soda Program

Carnival Cruise Lines will offer all guests the option to purchase a “Bottomless Bubbles” unlimited soda program which will allow the guest unlimited soft drinks and juices for the duration of the cruise at a one-time purchase price. Prices are as follows – a 15% gratuity will be added (subject to sales tax if purchased prior to sailing).

Child Rate Per Day           $4.50                     (17 years of age and younger)

Adult Rate Per Day          $6.00                     (18 years of age and older)

Upon purchasing the “Bottomless Bubbles” unlimited soda program, a sticker will be placed on the guest’s Sail & Sign card. “Bottomless Bubbles” can be purchased at the ship’s Casino Bar and Pool Bar.

In all areas where beverage service is offered, guests may show the “Bottomless Bubbles” sticker and receive a glass of the carbonated soft drink of their choice. Juices may also be requested. One 16 ounce glass will be served at a time and only to the guest whose name appears on the Sail & Sign card with the “Bottomless Bubbles” sticker attached.

      ·         The “Bottomless Bubbles” unlimited soda program is non-transferable and may not be shared. Guests or family members who would like to enjoy soft drinks through this program must purchase their own sticker.

      ·         One beverage serving, per sticker, will be served at a time.

      ·         Soft drink is served by the glass (16 ounces); juice is served by the glass (10 ounces).

      ·         The program cannot be used through room service or the Interactive TV system, where applicable, or the minibar, where applicable.

      ·         The program can be used in Half Moon Cay.

      ·         Note: The following beverages are available in the Lido Deck Restaurant, 24/7 and are complimentary: Coffee; Hot Tea; Hot Chocolate; Lemonade; Unsweetened Iced Tea.

I found the soda card to be a pain.  They will only ever allow you one very small open cup of soda at a time (about a half of can).  I would get my soda and it would be gone before I was able to get back to the room, or to the deck chair.

During dinner at night we were stuck in the back corner on the upper level, and the bar waiter almost never came near our table.  We had wine at the table every night (that the regular waiter to care of), and I was the only one that also wanted a soda, and even with tipping, some nights I never did get a drink, and one night it came at the same time as dessert.  If there had been others ordering drinks at our table or one right next to us, I likely wouldn't have had a problem.

Another pain was, for example, if you are at the comedy club and sitting and watching the show the bar waiters will not get you a soda even with a tip.  They insisted that I get up and get the soda myself.  If my husband was going to get a beer and a soda for me, that also was not allowed even if I was sitting a few feet away. I always had to get up and serve myself and as I said it was only ever a half can up pop so I would be running back and forth all the time.  Even sitting in a bar they would come to our table and take by husbands order for a beer, and then tell me that I have to go up to the bar myself.  Also once they get to know that you want soda, they will serve everyone around you that is ordering alcohol first and leave you until last.

It works for some, but not for me.  Next time I will be happy to pay the extra money that it saves just to avoid what I found to be a pain.

It may have helped if I had also brought some of my own soda on board, but my thought had been that I did not need to because with the sticker I could get one at any time.

We don't get the soda card for a number of reasons.   My kids are perfectly happy with an unlimited supply of lemonade and iced tea.  My husband and I prefer water over soft drinks.  At home, we only drink juice at breakfast, and there is plenty of complimentary juice on the Lido Deck buffet at breakfast time.  At dinner if my kids want to order a drink, it's usually a smoothie, not soda, so the card doesn't help anyway.  Hope this helps you decide.

I actually find this to be a major disappointment! I was told when booking my cruise that they are there to make our cruise as pleasant as possible whether tips are handed out at the time, or if they are pre-paid, and now I find out something as small as a glass of soda is made into such a big deal? The waiters will not bring it to you because it's pre-paid? How silly!! I find it dumb that on a cruise where everything is supposed to be included (other than alcohol) you can't even get soda or juice for free. I can order Lobster, but not soda? I'm really looking forward to going, but stuff like this makes me a bit leary.

      Everything is NOT included.

A lot is included, but not everything.  Pop is among that which isn't.

Why?  If you want to pay double your fare for a cruise where you get all the pop you want, go Disney.  Is it worth it now?  Less to be leery of?

Be glad you're not my wife.  She drinks - easily - 4 liters of diet coke a day.  Bars aren't generally open before 10, and we get up at 5.  There goes 5 hours of her pop drinking time, and that's about when she starts in on the DODs when we're cruising.

Just chill.  Work with it, or don't.  But getting worked up over pop?  "Come on guys! I'm trying to get myself into diabetes before I'm 50 ... help me out here!"

Pay $2 for the ones in your mini-bar if it's that crucial.

SIG: If you're going to create the drama, at least supply the popcorn.
