I have eaten a lot of salsa in my lifetime, but none compares to the salsa on Carnival's cruise ships.  Does anyone know their recipe?  I have tried and tried to make salsa like that on the ship, but mine is never quite as good as theirs.

I have added cilantro.  It's still not as good as Carnival's though.  Something is missing.

Maybe what's missing is the cruise!  Big Smile  Everything tastes better if I don't have to make it and clean up after it, while on vacation on a fabulous ship seeing great new places, with no worries!

I looked for a recipe.  I couldn't find one.  I do remember tasting a small amount of oregano, though.

have you tried a little acid.. lime juice? I usually add a little olive oil. Oregano sounds like a good idea. Oh and are you adding garlic? I get a bit lazy when it comes to salsa at home.. a can of rotel through the food processor and voila!

I think that fresh green (bell) pepper and fresh onion was used.  I am guessing that the tomato base was with canned tomatoes because I didn't see any seeds, but it could have been some tomato water and seeded roma tomatoes, too!  There was very little heat in the salsa I had, so my experience is that Rotel (and other similar products) would be too warm by comparison.  I like the heat, but then I like jalapenos fresh or roasted and added to just about everything.

The garlic is a great idea, along with a bit of lime juice.  That gives a distinctive taste, too!
