We Visited Paradise Beach, The Food Was Nice, It Wasn't Very Expensive, It Was Relaxing, The Pool Was Better Than The Ocean I Have To Say Though
Paradise is on the other side of San Fransisco beach from Sanchos and Nachi Cocom. All four [plus a few others, mostly hotels] are all on the east side of the island a few miles south of Puerta Maya. They're all going to have the same "ocean", and with minor variations in coral formation, the same snorkeling/diving opportunities.
To get a significant difference in 'ocean' you're going to have to hit the east side of the island, which is sparsely populated, with beaches ranging from sandy to sandy-rock ... and with almost no one on them. There's a reason for this. Two, actually. For much of the year, you'll see flags on stakes marking sea turtle nests - don't touch or you'll become familiar with Mexican Prison. And, notice the waves? This is the Caribbean side ... open water, higher surf, strong currents and rip tides.
Take your pick of west-side beach resorts and their fees and gimmicks, or pick your empty east-side beach when you can't go in the water past your knees.
SIG: If you're going to create the drama, at least supply the popcorn.
