I have gone on many cruises with Canival but this was my first on the Imagination, and the hot tubs are now called whirlpools. The water was freezing in these things and pretty much useless unless you were drunk or a very small child who didn't mind turning purple. For what these cruises cost making the "whirlpools" hot should not be that difficult.

the whirlpools were very warm to almost hot on our cruise but the problem was that the kids kept getting in and  the adults couldn't enjoy them. I got a really good picture of a bunch of kids in a whirlpool with a sign on it saying "adults only". That would be my only complaint. If a sign is posted then enforce that policy. No one said anything to these kids about being in there.

It's very simple - you're the grown-up, tell the kids to get out!  If mom or dad comes to you and says something, just point to the sign!  Better yet, book on a ship that has a serenity deck and stay there!  As for the water temperature, it's going to be whatever the ocean water temp is because that's where they got it from!

I don't go on vacations to hassle with kids or their parents for that matter. I shouldn't have to. The staff should let people know when they are breaking the rules. They stepped over to let several adults know that drinks weren't allowed in the whirlpools, so they can tell the kids that they need to get out. Secondly, I did go to the serenity section and guess what?! there was a father there with his two kids in the whirlpool.  I am just saying, if Carnival isn't going to enforce it then don't post the signs.....

I would say something to the kids or their parents if they were in the adults hot tub. If that didn't work I would expect the carnival employees to do something about it. It that fails to get them out, I would think about booking with someone else next time. I don't think it's inappropriate to ask the kids to stay out of the adult hottubs. I certainly wouldn't go into the childrens pool. However, I have read here on a couple of posts where the parents have taken their children with them into to adults hottubs.....Angry

When did everyone become afraid to ask a parent, to abide by a rule?  If you are right, than what can they possibly say?  Just ask them nicely that you would like to enjoy the adults only pool, and if by chance they to not oblige, get an appropriate person to handle it.

On the other hand, those kids are paying passengers also, and some of those kids have paid the 1st and 2nd person rate, so they have paid the same amount as you.  They are not afraid to take over the whirlpool, so why are all the adults afraid?

I am not afriad of anyone, or their kids....I will say it again....I go on Vacation to RELAX!, not hassle with people and their kids. It doens't matter how nicely you ask, parents take their kids on these cruises and turn them loose.  My husband and I went camping  a year ago and some kids drove a golf cart thru our tent and ruined it. It is the same thing at the camp ground. They take the kids out there and let them go and don't monitor them.  It doesn't matter how much was paid for them to be there, Carnival posted a sign "Adults Only".  Carnival should enforce it.  I raised three kids and I would never allow them to break rules or tear up other people's property. If I saw one of them in an adult only hot tub, I would tell them to get out and respect the rule. I wouldn't wait till some adult who is there to relax and enjoy themselves, had to ask me to remove my kids.

It's obvious that you have never had a parent yelling and cursing you out for saying something to their children. This subject will not go away but if Carnival would enforce the rules there would be no problem. Again this is not going to happen because Carnival doesn't want to rock the boat and for the parents of these erConfused chirdren :you can't reason or argue with ignorance".

You just can't fix "stoopid" The Serenity area was created for a reason, for ADULTS to have an area where NO kids are allowed, least of all,in the hot tub, where they should be anywhere on the ship.I know kids have a right to enjoy their cruise as much as adults do,but....not at the expense of adults.Cool

This was so upsetting to me, I really love kids and I think if Carnival realized why kids should not be in hot tubs perhaps they would be more structured about their rules. Hot tubs are not kiddy pools, thousands of children die yearly in hot tubs because of the depth configuration, suction pull system and heat. I walked by and counted seriously 16 kids in one of the 2 hot tubs on the Lido deck of the Fascination. I asked a Carnival employee why they never said anything to them, the response was we don't want to make the parents angry. The regular pool was 2 feet away, you have a huge sign on the hot tub that says adults only-if their child dies in your hot tub I promise you they are going to be alot madder. and if they can't handle following the rules do you really want them on your ship to begin with? I think you could mechanically adjust the pull system, depth and heat and make one of the 2 hot tubs kid friendly. Please look into ths before a child gets hurt on one of your ships. Thank You.
