We are going to be cruising the Dream in June of 2011, prime cruising season on a new ship. My daughter has sensory disorder, and has sever anxiety attacks when there are too many stressors all at once. (Ex: bright lights, crowds, lots of movement, loud noise, etc.) So, in other words, getting on the ship will be a nightmare.
Any suggestions on how to make this a more tolerable experience? I know she will be fine once we are on the ship. We can avoid a lot of the more stressful events, such as dining on the lido deck and dining in the dining room instead most of the time. Breakfast in the room through room service, etc.
I know I have read posts from others about boarding in a "different" way..how did you go about this, and how did you gain permission to do this?
Costa Cruise 2003
And a Royal Carribean Cruise somewhere in there, but I wasn't impressed, so I don't remember it!
