Enjoy part of your day exploring the fascinating city of Barcelona and tasting traditional tapas in two different restaurants.

On this excursion you will:

• Begin your excursion with a drive towards Sagrada Familia, the Holy Family Church, designed by Gaudí in 1882 and never completed. This unique church stands witness to Gaudí´s creative, although controversial, genius.
• Learn construction began again in 1940, but faltered due to confusion over Gaudí´s plans.
• Join your guide for a walk around the outside of the church as Gaudí´s vision for the church is discussed.
• Afterwards, rejoin the bus for a short drive towards the Passeig de Gracia, the most elegant avenue in Barcelona where you will pass by famous modernist works such as La Pedrera House and Casa Batlló.
• On Passeig the Gracia, you will stop at our first restaurant where tapas will be served.
• After having tried these delicacies, you will proceed to the Port Olympic, passing by Catalunya Square and the Gothic Quarter.
• Once there, you will sample more tapas while enjoying the coastal views of the Mediterranean Sea.
• Following this delicious excursion, you will be transferred back to the pier.

NOTE: October 12th, 09, is a Public Holiday and therefore the City and surrounding areas may be busy and some shops and restaurants may be closed. Some souvenir shops will be open. For operational reasons, this excursion may operate in reverse.
At the end of your excursion you will have the option to be dropped off at the bottom of Las Ramblas for shopping.

A free shuttle bus is provided to take you back to the ship.
